Apps Associates Implementation Methodology for Oracle Cloud ERPApps Associates has a proven implementation methodology for Oracle Cloud ERP that takes advantage of the simple configuration steps and focuses on the business processes associated with using the applications. Our methodology focuses on client administrators trained quickly so that they can assist with the implementation steps around design and development. The methodology is flexible enough to allow us to take a larger role in these steps if the client’s team is resource constrained.

Inception PhaseDuring the inception phase we discuss user requirements and identify any risks to the project.

We clarify who will be part of the project team and make sure that all stakeholders are represented. We develop a communication plan to keep everyone informed as the project progresses. A change management plan is also identified to determine the business areas most affected by this implementation.

Elaboration (Design) PhaseDuring the elaboration phase the fundamentals are put in place. We start by training the client administrators on how the Oracle Cloud ERP applications are configured. Our consultants, along with client administrators, quickly build the basic screens to support the major data process flows and work through a number of workshops to review the business process in the applications. Gaps are identified where the standard process doesn’t fit the desired business process, and solutions are developed that close these gaps. Any integrations, custom reports, and custom objects required have functional specifications created.

Construction (Development) PhaseDuring the construction phase we develop the integrations, custom reports, and custom objects that complete the design of the solution in the Cloud ERP system. Data conversion upload programs are reviewed and tested to load data into the system for testing. Screen layouts are finalized for the different layouts (detailed, simplified, and mobile). Roles and responsibilities are finalized.

We work closely with the users to perform trial runs of data conversions, complete screen and navigation layouts and finalize users, roles, and responsibilities.

Finally we host business process reviews with the full team of stakeholders to ensure user acceptance.

Testing PhaseApps Associates recommends a minimum of two testing events to confirm that the business process can be completed in the applications as desired. Full data sets are loaded through the upload program to mimic the final data conversion and to estimate the time required during the production cutover. The data is used to support end-to-end testing of the business process. End users are introduced to the new system and trained by the team.

Transition PhaseOnce testing is complete, the production cutover plan is executed. The production Cloud ERP instance is provisioned. Configurations and custom objects are migrated to the production instance. Final data conversations are performed. All remaining end users are trained and the system is tested for readiness.

Production PhaseIn the production phase we release the production instance to users and provide what we call ‘hyper care support’ for the vital post-production period. We can then handover the Oracle Cloud ERP support to our client’s fully trained team or continue to provide support through a managed service engagement.
