The lecture will be co-presented by five speakers from Iran, covers the following five items such as: sleep disorders (insomnia), migraine, sciatica, culinary medicine in neu-rology (memory improvement), manipulation and purification techniques. Based on Tra-ditional Persian Medicine (TPM), dystemperaments in the nervous system can cause a multitude of very common complications such as insomnia, migraine, sciatica and memory loss. Balancing and restoration of dystemperaments in this system can prevent, correct, and reverse these discomforts. TPM offers herbs, diet correction with a tradition-al culinary medicine and foods and also traditional manipulation techniques that can effi-ciently balance the nervous system and alleviate these symptoms. Insomnia Based on Traditional Persian Medicine Perspective Dr. Seyed Shahin Soltani is a MD, PhD with medical doctorate degree of Western med-icine from Iran (1996) and PhD in Traditional Persian Medicine (TPM/ TIM) from Iran (2012). He has been involved in medical practice, research, and teaching for the last 25 years and is currently an Assistant professor in Houston Community College and faculty of ACAOM (American College of Acupuncture & oriental medicine) and teaching West-ern medicine classes and Western herbal medicine in Master and doctorate degree pro-grams since 2013 and an International speaker in medical seminars. Migraine: A Traditional Persian Medicine Approach Dr. Meysam Shirzad is a MD, PhD with a medical doctorate degree of Western medi-cine from Iran (2004) and PhD in Traditional Persian Medicine (TPM/ TIM ) since 2013. He has been involved in medical practice and an international lecturer in Macro-SAR China, education of principles of TPM in Vienna Austria and in Athens / Greece recently. He is an assistant professor of Tehran University of medical sciences school of TPM since 2013. Sciatica: A Traditional Persian Medicine Approach Dr. Alireza Abbassian (MD, Ph.D.) is a medical doctor of Western medicine (Iran, 2004) and Ph.D. in Traditional Medicine (TPM/TIM) since 2012. He has been involved in medi-cal practice and was a former researcher at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. He is a WHO expert in Traditional Medicine and had lectures in Jaipur & Jamnagar, In-dia, and Macao-SAR China. He has been an assistant professor at Tehran University of medical sciences, school of TPM since 2013. Traditional Persian Culinary Medicine for Memory Improvement Dr. Mehrdad Karimi (MD, Ph.D.) is a medical doctor in Western medicine (Iran, 2001) and a Ph.D. in traditional medicine (TPM/TIM) since 2013. Dr. Karimi was involved in teaching students from China, Austria, India and Greece and an international speaker. He has been an associate professor in Tehran University of medical sciences, school of TPM since 2013 and the former chair of TPM there. Purification and Traditional Manipulation Techniques in Neurologic Disorders Based on Persian Folk Medicine Dr. Mahdi Alizadeh V. (MD, PhD) is a Medical Doctor in conventional medicine (since 2002) and PhD in Traditional Persian Medicine since 2013. He teaches and practices medicine and involved in interdisciplinary research as an assistant professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, School of Persian Medicine since 2013. He has also been an international Medical lecturer in Iran and Austria.

Treating Cancer Survivors with TCM

Participants will be introduced to a range of topics related to treating the unique needs

of cancer survivors. Acupuncture and herbs treatment strategies for commonly seen

late effects will be covered. Participants will learn about the challenges cancer survi-

vors face and the role we can play as a member of their healthcare team.

Dr. Kathy Taromina practices acupuncture in Washington State. She is a clinical re-searcher at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Academic Dean and Director of Research at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. She also teaches

at the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine and Bastyr University. Dr. Taromina obtained her MSTOM degree in 1999 and DACM degree in 2016 from the Pacific Col-lege of Oriental Medicine. She is the principal investigator at the SEAttle-based Re-

search of Chinese Herbs for COVID-10 and Chair of the Institutional Review Board of the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine.

Combination Treatment on Irritable Bowel Syndrome by TCM

This course will talk about irritable bowel syndrome in TCM perspective, how to balance

through liver, the aetiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of IBS. Speaker will

also discuss several clinical cases.

Dr. Shiwu Xiao is an expert of TCM with a high credential in both China and outside, more than 30 years works at top institute hospital and expert clinic in China, Israel and Canada. In 1988, after eight years intensive systematic University study and training in both Chinese Medicine and West Medicine, he earns his MD, OMD, since then, has been working in the same university and university hospital for a long time with Acu-puncture, Chinese medicine and modern western medicine. As an Associate Profes-sor, vice chief physician, Dr.Xaio has been worked at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in internal medicine and pediatric department since 1988 right after graduation. With more than 30 years rich experience, he helps numbers of patients, gains a tremendous reputation in China, since his excellence, 1998, he was entitled as 21 century top elite of TCM by the province government. He has a very good international reputation, his patients and students come from U.S, Canada, Europe, Japan, Korea etc. As a visiting professor of Med-Cin college of TCM in Israel, and Burcin College in Telaviv University, worked in the expert clinic there over 10 years, very success and known in Israel. Now, he settles in Calgary and works as a professor, Dean of Chinese medicine department in Canadian institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, lectures to college students, practitioner and patients, now starts to treat patient in the expert clinic. ods of payment from patients.

Marilyn Allen is a Practice Management Consultant for the acupuncture profession.

Her expertise spans practice building, office management, marketing and professional ethics and jurisprudence. Marilyn is a co-author of Points for Profit, a book for the acu-

puncture profession in the area of business and practice management, marketing and public relations. With a M.S. in Management and Administration from Pepperdine Uni-versity, she has honed her skills in several large complementary medicine clinics. Mari-

lyn serves as the Public Relations and Marketing Director for the American Acupuncture Council. Marilyn has been a contributor to three different Oriental medicine journals and in 1999 was named as the Editor of Acupuncture Today. Marilyn is currently serv-

ing as the representative to the WHO (World Health Organization) for the development of diagnostic does for the International Classification of Traditional Medicine. Repre-senting Traditional Medicine providers on the Technical Advisory Group for Quality and

Safety. A member of the U.S. Delegation to the International Organization for Stand-ardization. Marilyn has been elected to the Chairman’s Advisory Council. The organi-zation is working on Public Safety and Quality and Standards for herbs and medical

devices used in Acupuncture Offices. Marilyn loves to work in her garden and grows various kinds of fruit and numerous flowers in her spare time,. She also enjoys experi-encing various types of Traditional and Homeopathic treatments for her research and

personal health and wellbeing.
