Our APPR plan is used to promote student learning and
improve teaching and professional practice. We would like tobegin to collect data for ALL TEACHERS to make sure thatscheduling practices promote equity in conditions that affectteaching and learning. The information you provide theAssociation will not only help us monitor and enforce ourAPPR agreement, but it will allow us to monitor the impact ofscheduling practices within each building.
According to our APPR Agreement:The District shall institute scheduling practices aimed atimproving equity across classes. These practices include thefollowing:
Classes of similar levels being taught by multipleteachers will be objectively populated to ensureheterogeneous, equitable distribution of studentpopulation, according to the principles established bythe State Education Department, section D7, table 1 of
the APPR Guidance Document released June 2012. In the event that a review of Teacher-of-Record
assignments reveals inequity in class population, theDistrict and the Association shall meet to address thedisparity as soon as possible.
