Would you enjoy a fascinating and dynamic COO role working at the centre of the world’s largest network of professionals navigating complex business turn-arounds and insolvency cases?INSOL International provides high quality services to its members in developed and emerging economies in order to enable sustainable enterprise and job creation. We help national governments by providing independent pres-entation of the best practices in business insolvency laws and turnaround practice, insight we facilitate and collect from the best minds in the global academic, legal and accounting communities. We convene, train and create support networks for the judicial authorities to understand how to promote business turn-arounds or how to wisely navigate business failures. We work with professional service providers to educate and train them in the range of options to help businesses remain solvent or to handle insolvencies so that creditor and investor trust is preserved, enabling the environment for future investment.

INSOL International sees an increasingly inter-connected world where trade across borders heightens the impor-tance of a global understanding and best practice of sound insolvency systems. Trust is essential between busi-nesses and their employees, investors and beneficiaries, and government and industry in order to continue the health of our national and our global economy. INSOL works as a servant of these relationships, fostering sharing of best practice within the safety of wise and supportive networks.

The association’s mission is to take the leadership role in international insolvency issues and policies, and also facilitate an exchange of information and ideas among those in the insolvency and turnaround process.

INSOL’s affairs are administered and managed by an elected board of directors, an Executive Committee and CEO. INSOL International….OPENS DOORS – In today’s shrinking global marketplace INSOL International offers the opportunity to network and exchange infor-mation with thought leaders and practitioners in over eighty countries around the world. All 10,000 of our mem-bers are listed in our annual printed directory which is sent to all members and on our website’s search-friendly database. Why is this important?

Because the global marketplace is shrinking and more cases have connections overseas, even smaller enterprises now have international links through the use of the Internet. We help our members be part of a strong global net-work that builds relationships across jurisdictions.

LEADS THE WAY –INSOL works with international organisations like UNCITRAL and the World Bank to produce best practice guide-lines, model laws and legislation. INSOL frequently works with professionals in specific countries to develop their insolvency laws. This creates an understanding between different local systems and recognition in foreign courts or jurisdictions which means our members can work faster to achieve the aim of saving assets/companies/jobs.

INCLUDES EVERYONE –INSOL’s members include accountants, lawyers, judges, academics, regulators, lenders and insurance providers. INSOL has a number of specialist groups such as the Judiciary, Lenders group and Academics group. These groups meet frequently to discuss wider issues of global insolvency. At our conferences we hold ancillary meet-ings prior to the main conference for Small Practice, Academics, Judges, and from time to time programmes on specific areas of interest, most recently we have focused on offshore. Why is this of value?

It encourages discussion between the different groups, which leads to a better understanding and assists in developing the process.

How INSOL International Makes a Difference

BRINGS PROFESSIONALS TOGETHER –INSOL provides the opportunity for members to network in different regions, to exchange knowl-edge with professionals from other countries and enjoy outstanding technical programmes at our Annual Conferences, Regional One-Day Seminars and Quadrennial Congress. INSOL members can take advantage of discounted rates at our confer-ences and ancillary meetings. Why is this of value?

INSOL is the only provider of regular technical pro-grammes that examine the systems of different countries and works towards better international understanding and co-operation whilst covering current issues facing the practitioner and the hot topics of the day through its annual Conferences and Quadrennial Congress.

ADVOCACY –INSOL speaks as one with the same aim wherever in the world. It enables members, as part of the turn-around and insolvency profession, to make a difference not only on the world stage but also in helping specific countries develop their systems, and as part of an association respected for its prin-cipals, values and neutrality. Members are encour-aged to be part of INSOL committees, contribute to our projects and publications and be involved in the technical programmes at our conferences. Why is this of value?

Through active involvement in INSOL members benefit from the thirty-two years INSOL has spent striving to achieve a better working relationship with professionals in the different regions of the world. We leverage volunteer labour to create huge value for developing economies.

EDUCATES AND INFORMS –INSOL International produces a number of publica-tions including monthly newsletters and technical papers, which are distributed to our members cov-ering key aspects of international insolvency and restructuring issues. Why is this of value?

In today’s shrinking world our members cannot afford to be without the necessary information to keep up to date with current events. The wide reach of INSOL means our members are never in the dark when it comes to significant changes in the interna-tional insolvency and restructuring profession.

There is an inherent tension in this role, which INSOL International wants to unabashedly and immediately table. It also requires a leader who will adapt and apply their operational management to maximise the contribution from the varied functional teams and diverse projects under their responsibility.
