Yes Open Cast mining with Inclined Slicing, Shovel - Dumper Combination method. .

1.14 Facilities for storage of goods or materials?

Yes Coal produced from the mine is stored on surface at designated coal stock yard duly provided with fire fighting & dust suppression system.

The goods & materials are stored in designated store. Explosives are stored in magazine (3te) as approved

by Controller of Explosives.

1.15 Facilities for treat-ment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents?

Yes Solid Waste – Solid waste is mainly overburden generated from the excavation work. The dumping of overburden is envisaged with the view of minimizing external dumping. Liquid Effluent – 1. Workshop ETP of 75 KLPD capacity is in operation with pre-settling tank, drain, oil &grease trap, sedimentation tank &

clear water tank. The treated effluent is reused for washing of HEMM. There is no discharge of effluent to outside nallah. 2. Mine discharge water is made to pass through the Mine water is made to pass through the mine water treatment plant of dimensions 28mX7mX2m followed by 150m long typha plantation to increase its pH before joining the Erai river. Regular water quality monitoring is carried out by CMPDIL on behalf of WCL & by MPCB as per Environment Standards 2000 of MOEF. 3. Domestic Effluent – There exist septic tank and soak-pit arrangement.

No No This is an existing project and does not involve any nala diversion.

The ground water abstraction is proposed for safe working of the mine.

This is an existing project and it is anticipated that the effect on ground water regime will be in the down-dip side. This effect will be temporary in nature and once the mining ceases, after 2 – 3 rains, the regime will regain. Any shortage of water in the affected villages during the temporary period will be supplemented through supply of treated water pumped out

from the mine.

1.22 Stream crossings? No ---

1.23 Abstraction or transfers of water from ground or surface waters?

Yes Ground Water – Due to excavation strata seepage water gets accumulated at the floor of the coal seam in the sump having capacity to deal with peak rainfall. In order to maintain the working faces dry for coal production this water is pumped out daily. Applied for obtaining NOC for abstraction of ground water from CGWA vide application no-21-4/785/MH/MIN/2017 dated 16.02.2017.

Surface Water – No abstraction from surface water course, treated mine water and sub-soil water will be used for Industrial and Domestic use.
