University of Arkansas Hope • Texarkana Institutional Scholarships

NOTE: Application priority deadline is April 15 of the year of high school graduation.

UAHT recognizes academic achievement by offering four types of institutional scholarships for graduating seniors: Chancellor’s, Honors, and Bridge.

Scholarships will be awarded as received, beginning January 1st. All required documents must accompany scholarship application to be considered complete. No incomplete applications will be considered. Applicants must have the following on file in the Enrollment Management Office:

A completed UAHT Scholarship Application (available at www.uaht.edu, Enrollment Management)

A completed UAHT Application for Admission (available at www.uaht.edu, Enrollment Management, Registrar’s Of-fice, or Texarkana campus)

Copy of all ACT score reports

7th semester transcript (includes the fall semester of the senior year)

Chancellor’s Scholarship

Minimum qualification: Composite score of 25 or higher on the ACT. Annual scholarship amount: $3,000

Chancellor’s Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors only. The recipient must complete at least twelve (12) credit hours during the fall and spring semesters and maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA to maintain their eligibility for two consecutive years.

Honors Scholarship

Minimum qualification: ACT Composite score of 21. Annual scholarship amount: $2,000

Honors Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors only. The recipient must complete at least twelve (12) credit hours during the fall and spring semesters and maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA to maintain their eligibility for two consecutive years.

Bridge Scholarship

Minimum qualification: ACT Composite score of 19. Annual scholarship amount: $1,000

Bridge Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors only. The recipient must apply for and receive the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship. The recipient must complete at least twelve (12) credit hours during the fall and spring semesters and maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA to maintain their eligibility for one year.

Scholarship Stacking Policy Act 1180 of 1999 prohibits postsecondary institutions from using public funds in a student aid package which exceeds the cost of attendance at that institution. UAHT follows the Arkansas Department of Higher Education regulations by reducing scholarship amounts which cause awards to exceed cost of attendance. Scholarships awarded by UAHT will be reduced before other scholarships. In the absence of direction from private donor, all private funds will be split equally between fall and spring semesters.

The awarding of UAHT Scholarships is contingent upon available funding. In the event the number of qualified applicants for a particular scholarship exceeds the number of available awards, the following procedures will be used to determine the recipients: 1. Date completed application (Scholarship application, Application for Admission, ACT scores, and 7th semester transcript)

was received in the Enrollment Management Office 2. ACT composite scores -- ranked highest to lowest 3. ACT scores on individual sub-test -- Reading, English, Mathematics -- using super score method -- highest to lowest 4. Cumulative high school grade point average -- highest to lowest
