Compulsory H1 Subjects General Paper (GP), Project Work (PW), Mother Tongue (MT) #

# Students with D7 or better for ‘O’ Level Higher Chinese / Malay / Tamil need not offer H1 Mother Tongue at ‘A’ Levels. Students may opt for a non-Tamil language (e.g. Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati etc) for H1 Mother Tongue if taken at ‘O’ Levels. Students may opt for a foreign language (e.g. H1 German, H1 French, H1 Japanese) in-lieu of H1 Mother Tongue if taken at ‘O’ Levels. Students may opt for MT Syllabus ‘B’ if taken at ‘O’ Levels and approved by Mother Tongue Department.

H1 Subjects Students’ ‘O’ Level Exam results need to satisfy the minimum requirements for each subject before opting for it.

4H2 Subjects Students who wish to opt for 4 H2 subjects MUST have attained an L1R5 aggregate score (excludes bonus points) of 12 points or less. This L1R5 aggregate score must include strong ‘O’ Level grades in the following relevant subjects offered.

[e.g. for Science (Physics/Chemistry), students can only choose EITHER H2 Physics OR H2 Chemistry, with option to take the other Combined Science subject at H1 level] H3 Subjects H3 subjects are only offered to students after the JC1 Mid-Course (Promotional) Exams. For students who would like to opt for a H3 subject, he/she MUST have offered it as a H2 subject. Students will be recommended to take up H3 subjects based on their outstanding performance in JC1 tests and exams. In addition, recommendations by subject tutors based on students’ passion and flair for the subject at H2 level would also be taken into consideration.
