Impact load occurs on rails when a defective portion of a
wheel falls on the rail head. The impact load is transferred
to the rail head from the wheel through a combination of
any or all of the following defects: Wheel having a flat; Out
of roundness of wheels; Overloaded Axles; Defect in
suspension system; Misalignment of bogies; Skew in the
car body, etc. Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD) is a
Safety System used to identify the high impact load caused
by the defects at a very early stage, hence protecting the
Rail Infrastructure, avoiding derailments and catastrophic
failures. WILD also reduces service failures and unplanned
maintenance cost of Rolling Stocks and Tracks.

Hot Box and Hot Wheel detectors are trackside devices designed to
monitor axle, wheel and brake temperatures and to indicate any
overheating which could lead to derailments and transmits this data
to the traffic control and monitoring section. This is an unmanned
system, which consists of high speed pyrometers installed at axle
box level to check the temperature in near axle and far axle and at
the track level to measure the wheel temperature.
These pyrometers are connected with real time embedded data
acquisition system that wakes up on
train arrival to capture and analyze
the data from all pyrometers. The
real time software possesses the
intelligence to process the recorded
data and produces the report with
axle wise temperature information
and transmits the data to Traffic
Control or Monitoring Station. The
cut-off limits and the alarm limits can
be set by the user for flagging the
hot axles, hot wheel & cold wheels.

Truck Performance Detector (TPD) | Track Side Bogie Monitoring System (TBMS) | On-Board Diagnostics (OBD)
Truck Performance Detector (TPD)TPD is a product from TTCI, Pueblo, USA. The objective of TPD System is to detect & remove poorly tracking cars (curving
& tangent performance). TPD systems identify railcar truck suspension systems that do not perform optimally in curves.
Poor performance results in derailments due to wheel climb, gauge spreading, rail roll over and panel shift. Poor
performance also contributes to wear on track, wear on wheel profile and flanges and rail. TPD Systems also is able to
indicate poor bogie performance by measuring Vertical Force & Lateral Force. Derivatives of the vertical and lateral are
used to assess the curving performance of the bogie.

OBD Systems provide complete access to the location of
the locomotive and health information of various
components on-board the locomotive.These systems
enable real time monitoring of various parameters like
vibration, temperature, pressure, voltage, current, etc for
vital locomotive equipments like rotating machines, traction
motor suspension bearings, axle bearings, air compressor,
etc and could be used on both Electric and Diesel
Locomotives.

Track Side Bogie Monitoring Systems (TBMS) monitors &
provides data about the health of bogies. The forces acting
in the vertical & lateral directions of the wheel-rail contact
zone will represent the true health status of the bogie.
Bogies with poor health are identified and isolated from the
fleet for immediate repair & rectification.

Dragging Object DetectorDragging Object Detector is used to detect the low level hanging
parts on the moving train. Cases such as loose hose, loose
tarpaulin sheets are a potential risk on the live track and can cause
damage to the sleepers and lead to derailment. These low level
hanging parts are detected mechanically (by using a sensing plate
which is slightly above the rail level) or optically.

Load Box Test System for Loco EngineThe Load Box Test System is
developed to perform tests on the
Diesel Loco Engine under different load
conditions.
In real time the loco engine is coupled
to an alternator which provides the
electrical power to the traction motors
that drives the wheels of the
locomotive. In the test system, the
electrical output from the alternator is
provided to a water load box instead of
the traction motor.
The system is capable of starting the
diesel engine, controlling the alternator
output (the loading condition by
controlling the load box), running the
engine at various loads for set time, acquiring various
operational parameters of the engine, alternator & load
box. The system can also calculate and log various derived
parameters like SFC, etc. The system can display the data
in various user-configurable formats, log the data at high
speeds and can provide custom reports as per customer
requirements.

Rail Fatigue Rig | Remote Health Monitoring of Structures
Rail Fatigue Rig is an automated system to measure the
Fatigue Life of the Railway Track and Sleepers by creating
progressive & localized structural damage to the Railway
Tracks and the Sleepers from different directions. Based
on the cyclic loading of the Railway Track & the Sleepers
their Fatigue Life is determined. These tests help the
Engineering Department design & construct better
Railway Infrastructure. This system was developed for
