Olivier SabriéCEO - TOTAL PARCO PAKISTAN LIMITED

Hello everyone!

As we proceed towards the tail-end of the year, there are a lot of achievements to proudly look back upon, and even more to look forward towards.

We pride ourselves in having a customer-centric approach ingrained throughout all our operations. Moreover, we also allow ourselves to be adaptable enough in this to integrate a firm focus on Innovation across these activities. This results in the constant delivery of quality products and solutions, such as the introduction of the all new TOTAL Card for our valued customers. This is just the tip of the iceberg, as in this edition you’ll come across initiatives that portray how the company is always aligned with innovation, depicting the very essence of our value of Pioneer Spirit.

At TOTAL PARCO, every decision made is done so whilst employing a holistic approach on matters. This enables us to operate as a collective unit – delivering on all fronts, ranging from our terminals and depots to our retail network. Read on in this edition to learn how this stems from our Performance-Minded attitude. This same attitude empowers us to keep increasing our footprint in Pakistan by inaugurating new stations and Bonjour shops, so that TOTAL PARCO can always be within the reach of customers.

Another company value of ours, Stand Together, is portrayed through the activities we have conducted these past few months as a collective TOTAL PARCO family. These help us in growing closer every day, such as fondly bidding adieu to beloved colleagues and celebrating cultural events hand in hand. However, being a responsible corporation, we are proud to also have employed this concept externally and take up the mantle of Standing Together with society as well, which will be evident through the multiple initiatives in line with our CSR philosophy that you will come across in this newsletter.

To my employees, I would like to emphasize that together, we are almost at the summit - so push harder and with more passion and enthusiasm that I know you all possess. To the rest of the world, I am excited for you to witness the journey we have embarked on, and eagerly await for you to see all we have in store.

Until next time!

Cheers

03 | FIFTH EDITION - 2019

The all new TOTAL Card was officially re-launched on the 22nd of August, 2019 during a ceremony held at the TOTAL PARCO Pakistan Limited (TPPL) Head Office in Lahore. The latest iteration of the card is a smart solution with an efficient way to utilize one’s fuel budget in a manner allowing for more flexibility, greater control and increased security.

Further catering to customer convenience, the TOTAL Card is available in both a Postpaid format - billable at the end of each month - and a Prepaid option that can be topped up in advance remotely or at TPPL stations. Being significantly customizable, it provides the ideal fueling solution for all types of consumers ranging from individuals and corporate businesses to small and medium enterprises.

The new TOTAL Card also allows users to set limits and monitor spending patterns, providing more control over effectively managing spending. An extranet portal, developed exclusively for this product, allows for the seamless management and control of one’s fleet via an online dashboard.

The re-launch primarily focused on generating leads by creating awareness about the product features and benefits through multiple communication platforms. From station brandings to social media engagements, the communication strategy was detailed out to ensure that the right audience was targeted. The response from the customers was overwhelming, with registrations for the card coming in in droves. With a digital-centric solution, the innovative features of the TOTAL Card give TPPL the competitive edge in convenience retailing today, whilst simultaneously priming the company to stay ahead of the curve in the future as well.

THE LOBP EXPANSION PROJECT | APNA HAI TOTAL

TPPL prides itself in not only functioning at the highest level, but continuously working towards extracting new avenues to improve operational efficiencies. This can be attributed as a direct result of the company’s value of Performance-Mindedness being so deeply ingrained within the very core of the organization.

It is with this approach that the project to expand the facilities at the Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) was undertaken. The scope of the project was ambitious, the magnitude vast, with the construction of two base oil tanks (1000KL & 500KL), 4 additive tanks (100KL each) and one VIM Kettle (12KL). As a result of the project, the overall base oil storage capacity has been increased by 1500KLs, whilst the additive storage has seen an increase of 400KLs. In addition to this, decanting pumps have been added to cater to unloading of more additives and base oils. The addition of the 4 additive tanks also means that the most utilized additives can now be imported in bulk to save cost and time.

On August 6th, 2019, the expansion project was officially inaugurated by Mr. Christian Cabrol, Senior Vice President Marketing & Services (Asia Pacific & Middle East), during his visit to the location, accompanied by CEO TPPL - Mr. Olivier Sabrie, VP Operations (M&S - Asia Pacific), Mr. Olivier-Chalvon Demersay and senior management of the organization. Details of the project achievements and successes were also shared with Mr. Cabrol, who appreciated the commitment and efforts of all team members involved.

It is pertinent to highlight that not only was the project successfully completed, but it was done so with notable Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) achievements, with zero cases of first aid. The Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) was nil as well, in addition to which there were no days away from work. Special commendations go out to the Engineering team involved in the project, who managed to efficiently execute the project with zero downtime in 11 months.

Storage Tank Ground breakingCeremony at Machike Terminal

TPPL has always been committed towards developing avenues of continuous improvement and designing solutions for our customers and operations. In accordance with this, TPPL is in the process of constructing a large vertical storage tank within Machike Terminal to counter the growing demand of motor gasoline (MoGas) in the country.

The capacity of the new tank will be 8800 MT, making it the biggest tank in the TPPL network across Pakistan. After commissioning of the tank, the cumulative storage capacity at the terminal will be increased from 13,000 MT to 22,000 MT. The project itself was initiated in March 2019, with almost 60% of the work being completed thus far and an impressive 85,500 safe man-hours attributed to the

project. The new tank will be equipped with a full contact IFR (Internal Floating Roof), an advanced firefighting system and other related equipment.

The ground breaking ceremony was conducted on July 30, 2019 at the Machike terminal. CEO TPPL - Mr. Olivier Sabrie - unveiled a plaque on the occasion in the midst of senior management from TPPL, management from the contractor company, the terminal staff and the project team. The CEO was also briefed on the construction plan and measures taken to ensure effective implementation of safety standards.

TPPL actively works towards expanding its presence on the geographical footprint of Pakistan through the continuous extension of its retail station network. It was in keeping with this ideology, backed by the company’s value of being Performance-Minded, that two new image retail stations were inaugurated during the summer of 2019 by the CEO of TPPL, Mr. Olivier Sabrie.

Sultania II Filling station was strategically unveiled in Shorkot City, on the road leading to the M4 section of the motorway, providing not only convenience to the residents of Shorkot city, but also targeting traveling customers to cater to their ease and facilitation. Similarly, Bilal Petroleum (Pvt.) Limited was also inaugurated at a convenient location in Khushab, providing efficient fueling facilities to the residents of the area and highway travelers alike.

Both stations come equipped with state of the art refueling and allied facilities, in line with the new image concept to further emphasize TPPL’s network identity with a modern image that seamlessly merges with the environment, reflecting the company’s stance in supporting growth, sustainable development and better energy.

TPPL’s new image Bonjour shops represent the company’s vision of providing innovative solutions for customers at large by providing a mini market, fast food and café available through a one-window solution at retails stations. With a current network of more than 240 shops and growing, the Bonjour convenience stores chain offer customers a variety of categories for their daily and “on the go” needs.

In keeping with this, three new image Bonjour shops were inaugurated by CEO TPPL, Mr. Olivier Sabrie, during August 2019. Taimoor Trucking Station in Pattoki - frequently visited by customers traveling through the Multan-Lahore GT Road – and Wahid Petroleum situated in the vicinity of Pak-Pattan City witnessed inaugurations of the modern shop concept at their respective locations. Along with these, inaugurations of both a new image Bonjour shop and TOTAL QUARTZ Auto Care facilities was also carried out at Arham Service Centre in Pak-Pattan city. Arham Service Centre has been serving customers since 2000 and has been instrumental in providing efficient services to support the company’s vision from the onset.

These initiatives stand as testament to the company’s emphasis on innovation, with the new image Bonjour Shops aligned towards introducing products and concepts that enhance customers’ shopping experience at TPPL stations.

In another achievement which embodies the company value of adopting a Performance-Minded approach, TPPL joined hands with the leading dairy nutrition company - FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) – for a merchandising partnership agreement on the 2nd of September, 2019.

FCEPL has been a champion of safe dairy nutrition, enjoying a dairy heritage and R&D expertise of 148 years. It operates in 34 countries around the world, offering consumers with dairy products that are rich in valuable nutrients. By stepping into this agreement, TPPL reaffirms its stance of strategically partnering with prominent organizations in the region to work towards delivering the best possible product offering for customers in retail outlets across the country.

As a result of this initiative with FCEPL, TPPL’s Bonjour Shops will display Olpers Milk and Omore Ice-cream products ranges - two leading brands in the ice cream and dairy category within Pakistan. This category has witnessed significant success in the Pakistani market in the past, and it is pertinent to highlight this milestone agreement as being the first time TPPL has entered a strategic partnership in the ice cream and dairy category. This is a direct resultant of another company value - Pioneer Spirit - which is always spurring the organization on to seek new opportunities and

constantly explore avenues to maximize our potential.

The signing ceremony, held at FCEPL’s headquarters in Karachi, was graced by CEO TPPL, Mr. Olivier Sabrie and Managing Director FCEPL, Mr. Ali Ahmed Khan, along with senior management from both organizations. On the occasion, Mr. Oliver Sabrie stated that TPPL believes in providing maximum convenience and a wide variety of categories to

customers when it comes to the Shop, Food & Services category, adding that the organization is proud to partner with FCEPL at Bonjour Shops nationwide.

TPPL always stands ready and prepared to counter any unforeseen event head-on. In support of this, a Crisis Management Training & Practical Drill was conducted by TPPL in collaboration with a third-party vendor (OSALP International) at the Lahore Head Office on 16th & 17th July, 2019. During the first day of the training, all the Crisis Management Team (CMT) members were cognized regard-ing their respective roles and responsibilities. A practical drill was conducted on the second day, mimicking a real-time crisis situation. The Crisis Management Manual was also updated by incorporating a new CMT members list and their relevant deputies, alongside the integration of the Medical Evacuation Plan within the manual.

Keeping the Transparency Breeds Loyalty momentum going!

TPPL’s HSEQ team conducted sensibilization sessions in the past few months at Keamari and Rawalpindi Terminals for tank lorry drivers and installation staff. The interactive sessions included dissemination of information regarding the Safe Driver Campaign on Blind spots and a ‘Safety Gupshup’ performance - the idea behind which was to share and discuss TPPL Safe Driver Commitments and Transport Safety Regulations in an appealing manner. Following this, fun quiz competitions called “Khelo or Jeeto” - developed around the concept of Safety - were conducted for the drivers, which they enthusiastically took part in. Posters and pamphlets printed in Urdu were also present to facilitate awareness for the tank lorry drivers and transport staff, with the ‘Safe Driver – Blind Spots’ video also presented in Urdu.

This unique platform allows participants to learn about TPPL safety rules via sharing experiences & lessons learnt from past incident, videos and fun performances/game show. Gifts and goody bags were awarded to the drivers at the end of the session to motivate them towards the concept of safety and its advantages.

HSE Sensibilization Programs forTransporters

Blind spots are areas around a vehicle that the driver cannot see because they are hidden from view by structural parts of the vehicle, such as the windshield pillar or rearview mirrors. Road infrastructure - such as signs and poles - or trees may also lead to obstruction of view. Moreover, aspects from within the vehicle itself, such as items placed on the dashboard, stickers on the windshield, dirty or poorly adjusted rearview mirrors etc., may all be attributed to increasing chances of a blind spot in visibility occurring.

To enlighten more stakeholders pertaining to this, TPPL’s HSEQ Machike team, in collaboration with the National Highway & Motorway Police (NH&MP) conducted a Safe Driver session on Watching Out For Blind Spots for tank lorries drivers.

Along with making the relevant stakeholders aware of potential blind spot scenarios, they were informed of how to mitigate the possibility of any untoward incident associated with them taking place by checking, adjusting and cleaning rearview mirrors. Other key takeaways from the session included teaching drivers to keep their foot above the brake prior to entering a hazardous area and maintain a safe following distance (of at least three seconds) from the vehicle directly ahead of them. This further embeds TPPL’s commitment as a responsible organization in ensuring that its core value of Safety is not only employed within the organization, but propagated externally for the betterment of society as well.

Blind Spots session withNational Highway &Motorway Police

TPPL routinely conducts ‘Transparency Breeds Loyalty’ activities at selected retail stations in different regions, designed to enlighten customers about the Quality and Quantity verification systems at TPPL stations. In addition to this, live Quality and Quantity checkups are also offered to our customers.

In accordance with this, two such activities were conduct-ed, with the first being at Ittefaq II Filling Station in Jhang on 4th July, 2019 and the second activity conducted at Total Service Centre in Islamabad on 31st July, 2019. TPPL employees from Retail Sales, Engineering and HSEQ departments strongly depicted the company value of ‘Stand Together’ by working as a cohesive unit to actively participate in the activity.

The activity demonstrates TPPL’s commitment towards ensuring superior quality and precision in quantity for the valued customers at retail stations through effective utiliza-tion of Quality Control systems. During this activity, giveaways were also provided to customers, along with leaflets outlining details pertaining to Product Quality.

Continuous innovation is a mantra consistently adhered to at TPPL, allowing for not only more ideas to be encour-aged and developed, but being supported in flourishing throughout the business lines. This is directly in line with our value of Pioneer Spirit, which encourages us to be curious and adventurous, teaching us how to adapt and overcome adversity. This value has driven us in the past, still drives us today and will continue to do so tomorrow. The spirit of innovation is further kept alive within TPPL by periodically conducting ‘Innovation Café’ sessions to provide a platform for innovative ideas to be discussed and planned towards coming to fruition.

These sessions allow for the identification of unique ideas within the organization that may work towards adding value and saving costs. The interactive nature of these sessions also facilitate the sharing and brainstorming of concepts to make processes more efficient, powered by the collective thinking capacity of TPPL employees.

The latest iteration of the Innovation Café witnessed the collaboration of the Innovation Hub with TPPL’s Opera-tions team. The Operations function is a pivotal aspect of the company, ensuring efficient processes that support in meeting growth objectives. It is crucial, therefore, that more and more innovative ideas stem from this function to support the growth and progress of the organization.

The power packed sessions - held at the Machike and Keamari terminals – revolved around the notion of Operations Innovation Philosophy, and were attended by management staff at the Lahore & Karachi Terminals, with feedback from the employees over the initiative being very positive.

TPPL constantly works towards finding and developing avenues of continuous improvement, a major conduit of which has been the implementation and conduction of effective training sessions wherever applicable.

In line with this, a technical training session for retail engineering was conducted, whereby employees from all across the country were trained by the official TOTAL group trainers, Mr. Vincent Rousseau and Mr. Renaud De Carné. The training encompassed the management of a station project and understanding the primary steps in its construction from the design to commissioning stage. Employees learned how to identify key milestones of a project to determine the optimal path of execution, along with knowing how to best utilize tools and resources and adapt them in accordance with the project needs. All these aspects were explained whilst taking into account pivotal HSEQ constraints and considerations of any project.

In addition to this, trainers from TOTAL group provided another training session on the Solar Mission, targeted towards Retail Engineering, Retail Sales and HSEQ Departments. This was planned keeping in mind the company’s continued focus on venturing forth in the Solar sector. The training session took into consideration the technical aspects of proceeding into this industry and the potential benefits it holds for not only the company, but the society as a whole. The in-depth training lasted three days, comprehensively covering all facets pertaining to this project. The general feedback attained from both trainings was extremely positive, with the respective employees grateful for the learning they had acquired during these sessions.

Candid with CEO is a meet up program designed as a concept to have an interactive session with the CEO, especially for those employees who do not get an opportunity to engage with him on a frequent basis. TOTAL PARCO JOINS HANDS WITH SOS TECHNICAL TRAINING INSTITUTE | APNA HAI TOTAL

15 | FIFTH EDITION - 2019

TOTAL PARCOsteps forward for society with the SOS Technical Training InstituteKeeping in accord with being a socially responsible organization, TPPL prides itself in always being geared towards identifying and supporting initiatives that would result in the betterment of the future of society as a whole. Steered by a set of societal levers, the company aims to operate within a group of priority areas, amidst which one is supporting inclusion of youth and education. It was based on this mindset that the senior management of TPPL, led by CEO – Mr. Olivier Sabrie, visited the SOS Technical Training Institute (SOS TTI) on the 17th of April, 2019, to discuss the exploration of potential opportunities between the two entities.

TPPL aims to support SOS TTI in their goal of providing young, less-privileged students in the community with skill development opportunities in various technical fields and equipping them with the necessary skills to mold themselves into productive contributors of society. This directly stems from one of TPPL’s company values - ‘Stand Together’, as the notion also transcends outside the organization by standing together with society as a whole and energizing the future of the nation through talented, deserving students. This was further supported by community initiatives executed with zeal by Team TPPL during the month of May at the SOS TTI campus in Karachi, whereby basic Safety and Lubricants product knowledge was imparted to eager students through comprehensive, interactive sessions.

Culminating as a result of these activities through the year, TPPL is proud to have partnered with the prestigious institute on the 5th of August, 2019, furthering the company’s commitment towards contributing in imparting employable skills and safety awareness. The MOU was signed by CEO TPPL - Mr. Olivier Sabrie, and the Chairman of SOS TTI - Mr. Sanaullah Qureshi, amidst the presence of senior management from both organizations.

As a resultant of this initiative, tools and support will be provided to facilitate students in acquiring practical skills, along with the provision of personal protection safety gear to safeguard users against hazardous situations. Supplementing this, refurbished laptops to make use of quintessential learning tools will also be provided. In line with sustainable development, TPPL will be creating avenues for SOS TTI’s deserving talent in developing employable skills, thereby aiding in building a network of more educated and skilled professionals catering to the business needs of today.

BLOOD DONATION DRIVES AT TOTAL PARCO | APNA HAI TOTAL

Remaining aligned with the company’s civil society improvement commitments, TPPL once again collaborated with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust (SKMT) to conduct blood donation drives in office and terminal locations across Pakistan.

For many patients, treatments can become a serious challenge due to scarcity of blood and donors in adverse circumstances leading to emotional trauma, financial complications and lack of solutions. In essence, therefore, each drop of blood collected is a drop of life. There is a certain degree of pride in the fact that the TPPL family took this responsibility by the reigns, carrying on the enthusiasm from last year’s Blood Donation drive and standing together with society through this initiative.

The collective team effort saw employees turning out in droves, making a tremendous impact towards supporting society by donating a total of 126 bottles of blood – about 17% more than last year’s tally! The overwhelming response and excitement from the TPPL volunteers warrants a lot of commendation, having exceeded the expectations and making their respective contribution in saving lives.

This was also in line with TPPL’s noble cause of Keeping Pakistan Clean from Health Issues, in conjunction with the company’s over-arching goal of alleviating the nation from a host of societal issues and concerns. For the Lahore Head Office, collaboration was done in accordance with SKMT, whilst the blood donation drives were also conducted this year in the Karachi Regional Office, Lubricant Oil Blending Plant and the Keamari Terminal, in association with AMTF.
