The graphite gasket canbe replaced while the valve is underpressure and with the ball in any position. First, release any pressure thatmay exist between the upper O-ring and the graphite gasket throughthe grease injection fitting hole and thenremove the adaptor plate.</p><p>The O-rings can be replaced with thevalve in fully open or fully closedposition by removing the stem cover(after having released all the pressure in the body cavity).</p><p>Ball seat alignmentMechanical stops ensure control over ball rotation.</p><p>Extended BonnetValve designs are availablewith extended bonnets forapplications in extremetemperature service.</p><p>Extended bonnets arerecommended for serviceat temperatures below -50C (-58F) or above 220C (428F).</p></li><li><p>10</p><p>Soft-seated valves (primary metal, secondary soft)In valves designed for standard service, a resilient material isinserted into the metal seat holder to provide a soft seatingaction in addition to the metal to metal seating between the balland the seat rings.</p><p>Metal-seated valvesValves designed for abrasive service or for operation intemperatures that prohibit the use of a resilient material haveseating action provided by the metal-to-metal contact betweenthe ball and the seat rings. Seating faces are hardfaced.</p><p>6 and larger ASME class 150600 only </p><p>All sizes and pressure classes.</p></li><li><p>11</p><p>flowserve.com</p><p>STANDARD Single piston effect (self-relieving seats)Fluid pressure, both upstream anddownstream, creates a resultant thrust thatpushes the seat rings against the ball.</p><p>Fluid pressure acting in the body cavitycreates a resultant thrust that pushes the seat rings away from the ball.</p><p>The single piston design permits theautomatic release of any overpressure in the body cavity when the valve is in thefully open or fully closed position.</p><p>Consequently, the seat rings are "self-relieving."</p><p>OPTIONALDouble piston effectFluid pressure, both upstream and down-stream as well as in the body cavity,creates a resultant thrust that pushes theseat rings towards the ball.</p><p>Valves with double piston effect seat ringsrequire a relief valve to reduce the build-upof overpressure in the body cavity.</p></li><li><p>12</p><p>Fire safeValbart trunnion-mounted ball valves are designed and certifiedFire Safe to API 6FA, API 607, and ISO 10497.</p><p>Extended stemValves installed underground or in remote locations can beoperated with an optional extended stem.</p><p>All the drain, vent, and emergency sealant connections can beoperated using extended connecting pipes firmly attached to thestem protective cover.</p><p>EndsValve ends can be manufactured to several configurations tocomply with customer requests, such as:</p><p>Flanged RF or RTJ to ASME B16.5 up to 24 (MSS SP-44 for 22)and B16.47A for 26 and larger. Other type of flanges areavailable upon request.</p><p>Butt-weld ends to ASME B16.25.
