Goals

Goals of the APEC Intermodal & ITS Experts Group include the following :

Reduce barriers to the movement of people and goods and facilitate trade.

Save lives, time, money, energy and protect the environment through the realization of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

Facilitate the implementation of an efficient, integrated, safe, secure, and sustainable (energy and environment) intermodal transportation system.

Promote and facilitate the uptake of Electronic Commerce among businesses in transportation and related trading activities.

Evaluate new transportation technologies and methodologies used in supply chain management such as the tracking and tracing of containers.
