PREREQUISITES:

US citizen or legal U.S. resident

AGE: Must be at least 17 at the start of freshman year.

GPA 2.5 or higher

ACT score of 19 or SAT score of 920 or higher for scholarship application.

Be in good health. Pass a Department of Defense Medical Evaluation Review Board physical. You will be notified via E-mail telling you where to go for your physical.

Be of good moral character (satisfactorily explain any record of arrest and/or civil conviction).

You must be able to meet height/weight requirements and be able to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test.

Females: Push-ups: 19 in 2 mins.; Sit-ups: 53 in 2 mins.; 2-mile run: 18:54

Males: Push-ups: 42 in 2 mins.; Sit-ups: 53 in 2 mins.; 2-mile run: 15:54

SERVICE OBLIGATION:

8 years total - 4 years on active duty then 4 years in the active reserve components or Individual Ready Reserves.

We have scholarships for Guard & Reserve as well.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

100% TUITION, fees, and labs for up to 10 semesters (5 years).

$1200/year towards books ($600 per semester).

MONTHLY, tax-free stipend for your personal use: $300 (freshman); $350 (sophomore); $450 (junior); and, $500 (senior).

NURSES: o Nurse Summer Training Program – A 3 week,

120 hour clinical rotation in an Army hospital working one-on-one with an Army nurse preceptor/instructor.

o Extras: Nurse malpractice insurance, immunization and testing prior to beginning clinical training, nursing uniform and clinical supply allowance, NCLEX-RN review course and testing fees, and more.

CRITICAL LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIP: o The Army ROTC language scholarship is a

specially designed incentive program for students majoring in a foreign language.

o Currently Chinese and Russian Majors are eligible for the scholarship at ASU.

Note: Army ROTC scholarships are based on your own merit, not on need and are awarded independently of other scholarships, grants, or financial aid.

ROTC COLLEGE COURICULUM:

One core class each semester (3 credit hours) o Class meets 2x week for 1 hour 15 min o On Campus Lab (OCL) meets Thursday

mornings, 6-8am o Physical Training (PT) meets Mon, Wed, and Fri,

6-7:30am

One Military History class is required for graduation

One weekend Field Training Exercise a semester

Military Leadership Minor: Our classes afford you the option of earning a minor in military leadership. The minor in military leadership consists of 18 credit hours.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP:

High School students for National Scholarship: o Apply online at:

o Create a free GO ARMY account and follow the application instructions.

o You must apply by January 10th of your senior year. Application must be complete by Feb 18th.

WHAT IF YOU DON’T RECEIVE A HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP?

To apply for a campus-based scholarship, come in to see an ASU ARMY ROTC recruiter as soon as possible.

Sign up for MIS 101 for the fall. ENLISTED SOLDIER OPTIONS:

The Army Green to Gold program is designed for Active Duty enlisted Soldiers to pursue their Bachelors or Masters degrees and commission through ROTC.

The Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP): o Participate in both the National Guard/Reserve

and ASU’s ROTC program at the same time. Get paid to drill once a month with your unit.

o More than $20,000 in Federal Tuition Assistance and Montgomery G.I. Bill
