David Wright Collection: Business records relating to the Wright family. (ca. 1777-1850)
The Wright papers are a collection of over 600 documents
held by David Wright, of Chelsea, QC. They are
concerned primarily with the business affairs of Philemon
Wright (1760-1839) and his son Ruggles Wright (1793-
1863).
Digitising began in October 2015 and was completed by
December 2016.
The documents were catalogued by Pat Evans in 1994-1996.

Wright to Thomas Brigham in Grand River Hull in which
he requests Thomas Brigham to look after some business

RUGGLES WRIGHT Senior’s petition to the Governor-General , His Excellency the Rt. Hon. James Earl of Elgin and Kincardine Governor General of British North America, etc., etc., etc. This piece consists of 98 pages, 92 of them in printed, and the hand-written response of Secretary Thomas A. Begly.
Last will and testament of PHILEMON WRIGHT dated 4 February 1836, one of two

turned for the first time at Wakefield. the Bytown Railway Society crew providing the

The turntable sits at Kingston before it was dismantled, transported and installed in Wakefield
Turntable Park where it still is. April 1974

Two shots of the landslide that blocked the Hwy 105 or 11, in the gully just north of Chelsea
village. It was thought to be due to the construction of the new highway A-5. Spring 1973.

1900-1982, Albert 1898-1988, Georges 1910-1974, Zephirin 1907-1998 and Cleophas Mayer –
The first four are the sons of Mathilda (nee Lafleur) and Pierre Mayer. Cleophas Mayer is their
cousin. C 1925

Photo of the fatal train accident just north of Alcove that took the life of William “Bill” McFall in April
1911. It happened due to a washout under the train tracks. McFall was badly scalded and died a few
days later. Wm McFall was the engineer with a very distinguished career.
