FREE PATTERN
PREP Sand and seal wood piece with DecoArt All Purpose Sealer and let completely dry. Sand again with very fine sandpaper. Remove all dust with a tack cloth
BASECOATING
Paint two coats of Sand on the wooden supports, let them dry and sand with very fine sandpaper. Transfer the main lines of the drawing.
Rectangular base
Transfert the main lines (the divisions of the various sides) with graphite paper
Top and bottom edges : Sand Right and left edges : Rookwood Red Central Part : Jade Green
Chicken
Crest : Rookwood Red Wings : Sand Head and Body : Sand Flower : Melon Center of the Flower : Golden Straw

SHADING AND DETAILS
Rectangular base
Top and bottom edges : the base was painted with Sand, shaded the inside with Honey Brown. Highlight the outside with Light Buttermilk.
Right and left edges : the base was painted with Rookwood Red, shade the inside with Soft Black. Highlight the outside with Watermelon Slice
With the liner brush paint the dashed line with Light Buttermilk.

Crest Shade the internal sides, the lower part of the lateral hearts and the central heart with Soft Black. Highlight the upper part of the central heart with Watermelon Slice. Highlight the upper part towards the outside of the lateral hearts with Watermelon Slice. With the liner brush paint the small commas and the dots with Warm White. Wings Shade the inner sides (those in contact with the flower petals) with Honey Brown. Reinforce slightly with Raw Sienna. Highlight the outside with Warm White. With the liner brush paint the dashed line with Honey Brown. Body Shade the bottom and under the petals with Honey Brown. Strengthen only slightly under the petals with Raw Sienna. Drybrush highlight the central part with Light Buttermilk. Paint the decorations with the liner brush and Honey Brown. Transfert the word "Memo" and paint it with the liner brush and Jade Green. Head: shade the top with Honey Brown. Drybrush highlight the central part with Light Buttermilk. Paint the cheeks with a light float and Watermelon Slice. Eyes : Warm White, dots with Lamp Black Beack : basecoat Spiced Pumpkin, shade the left side with Burnt Sienna then slightly strengthen with Burnt Umber. Highlight the upper right corner with Light Buttermilk. Lightly reinforce the central part with drybrush and Light Buttermilk.
Flower Center of the Flower : shade the left side with Raw Sienna then slightly strengthen with Burnt Umber. Highlight the right side with Light Buttermilk. With the liner brush and Warm White paint the small commas and the dots. Paint the whole center of the flower with Glamor Dust Champagne. Petals : shade the inner side of the petals (1,2,3,4) with Heritage Brick, lightly reinforce with Rookwood Red. Highlight the upper outer part of the petals 1 e 4 and the outer part of the petals 5,2,6,3 and 7 with Warm White. With the liner brush and Warm White paint the small commas and the dots.
Glue the buttons on the corners of the base then glue the hen on the base. If you like, you can go over the contours of the beak, eyes, flower and body with the 0.05 micropen marker.
