Have you noticed our video construction updates with Senior Development Manager, Lisa or Assistant Development Manager, Noel or Property Graduate, John? Check out the @myHarpley facebook page for the videos posted from 1st February 2019 to today!

All hands are on deck at Harpley as we currently have 9 stages at different phases of construction. In addition to subdivision stage works we are busy building wetlands and reserves ready to landscape and plant in Autumn 2019.

In stage 52 and stage 53 we are close to completion and nearing lodgement for titles.

In stage 62 all physical works are now complete and we’re working through approvals with authorities.

Stage 63 drainage and water is complete and electrical installation is underway. In stages 64 and 65 the sewer, drainage, water and road box out is complete.

Our newest stages under construction, stages 66, 67 and 68 fill works and sewer works are well underway. And exciting news for Shearwater residents, the Shearwater Park is now open (see below).

Monthly development updates are available on the Harpley website.

SKETCH PLAN

Shearwater Park is now open to the public with a range of activities for everyone. Located on the corner of Treeve Parkway and Tundra Esplanade, Shearwater Park also borders the future Shearwater wetlands and waterways.

There’s lots of good reasons to check out Shearwater Park with the family! Of course, we have the best of children’s play equipment and climbing activities, but there’s also a basketball hoop for the bigger kids, lots of green space to kick a footy around and plenty of trees and plantings to make this a lush green park.

Unique to Shearwater Park is a range of specially designed fitness equipment to give big kids and adults a workout. If you’re having a social get-together there’s sheltered BBQ facilities and lots of space to spread out and have a picnic.

Shearwater Park is the perfect place to meet family and friends for a social catch-up or to take the kids to play.

It is centrally located only a short distance walk from the future town centre with schools, shops and community centre.

The future Town Centre at Harpley will be a vibrant retail, recreation, business and education precinct set alongside a waterfront destination - a place for the community to come together, to live, work and play.

Surrounded by sparkling waterways Harpley Town Centre will be perfectly positioned at the Heart of the Harpley community where everything you need is readily available.

The future Town Centre will offer a range of amenities including a major supermarket, convenient shopping, a primary school and waterside cafés. In addition, dedicated areas are proposed to include a health and wellbeing precinct, employment hub and a myriad of speciality services.

The vision for the future Town Centre is now available and was revealed to the Harpley community at an “I LOVE Harpley” event on Saturday 16th February. The community joined together to form a giant human heart on the lawn, a symbol of the strength of the Harpley community. You view the Harpley Town Centre brochure, fly-through video and Fast Facts newsletter by visiting the Harpley website: https://bit.ly/2YVKXeo

As part of the launch of the Town Centre campaign, Harpley asked our residents and future residents what they loved about Harpley. The I LOVE Harpley Competition attracted lots of entries with videos posted to our Facebook page throughout February and March. Tim Maloney was our grand prize winner of a $750 Werribee Mansion and Spa indulgence package. Welcome to Harpley Tim, we hope you enjoy living here when your home is finished! Craig Stuart Harpley resident

Tell us a bit about yourself?I am from the UK originally and have lived in Melbourne for the past 13 years. I am also a Martial Art Fanatic.

How long have you been living at Harpley? We have been living at Harpley for just over 2 years.

What do you love about Harpley? We love the open spaces near our house!

What are your hobbies & interests? I run the local Shindo Karate Club out of Wyndham Vale Primary School. I hope to run another 2nd Dojo in Harpley when a suitable venue becomes available. I like bush walking and travelling overseas.

Tell us something interesting about yourself? I have been on the front cover of a National martial arts magazine and represented Australia at the USA Open Karate Tournament in Las Vegas

Brad Wadsworth Harpley Sales Associate

Tell us about your role at Lendlease? I am a Sales Associate at Harpley and have been working for Lendlease for 10 months.

What do you love about your job? I enjoy working with such a supportive team that make coming to work fun. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing purchasers excitement as they move through the different stages of their purchase. It is very satisfying to be able to guide customers through the process and eventually see them move into their brand new home.

What was your previous role? Prior to joining Lendlease, I worked in land development in the northern suburbs. Before entering into the property industry almost four years ago, I worked in the pro shop at The Heritage Golf & Country Club.

What are your hobbies and interests? Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I find playing golf relaxing and love watching the Hawks in the Aussie Rules.

Tell us one interesting thing about yourself? I have a rare sleep disorder called Kleine–Levin syndrome, which effects one in one million. It causes me to sleep between 15-20 hours per day for a period of 7-10 days straight. Thankfully, I have medical assistance that helps me manage the condition so I can live and work a full and normal life!

Get to know

‘As many of you may know Storm is a well known pooch around Harpley and has his own Facebook page with over 1000 followers! Storm has a few words of advice to the fellow pooches of Harpley and how people can get out and about and meet their new neighbours!’

Hello fellow Harpley dogs! Since I appointed myself as the top dog living at Harpley, I’ve decided to impart

a bit of advice to you all in the human’s newsletter! The most obvious issue facing us lately is when we escape from our backyards and what happens afterwards. Look, I get it, we’ve all thought about jumping the fence and running for the hills but just sit down and think about it for a moment…you are going to get caught! We all know it and that’s when it gets embarrassing!

As puppies we all heard the stories about the dog that chased the cars as they were driving past their house, but on the day they caught it they didn’t actually know what to do! I think escaping has the exact same issue, we all plan our great escape, but we have no idea what to do then. We normally just sit at the front door of our house or just walk the streets of Harpley without a goal or any idea where we are going. Problems arise after you are caught and someone posts a photo of you on Facebook announcing they’ve found you. Just look the photo and have a hard look at yourself, you look like an idiot! You have a stupid grin on your face, your tongue is hanging out and you’re acting like this is the best day of your life. It’s not…you failed at your attempt and you know they are going to send you back. You’re making us all look

stupid. You should try looking more dignified, I know it’s difficult to do since we were domesticated 10,000 years ago and lost our warrior instincts but it’s not a good look for any of us.

Now that I’ve got the business over with I need some updates from those who have escaped. What’s it like out there? Have you seen any rabbits? Have you found food scraps under the barbecue in the park after they’ve gone home? Are you worried about your owners just sitting around the house all day and not meeting any of their new neighbours? I have this great idea to help them out and it will also help you out at the same time. It’s pretty simple….. just get them to take you for a walk!

When we first moved to Harpley they walked around the suburb with me on a leash. As I’m so incredibly attractive I would be noticed when we walked past someone’s house. Do you know how many new people we have met whilst just out walking the streets? Of course most of it was because of me…..they wanted to give me a pat and I scored a few belly rubs as well. On a few occasions we have ended up as friends with these new people…. formed great friendships! If they were true friends they’d bring me some food when they visit, but I guess they make my owners happy so I should be accepting of this. I can be found on Facebook at “A Dog called Storm” where we can talk amongst ourselves without the humans commenting…. Please send food…….

Sustainability & EnvironmentWERRIBEE PARK HERITAGE ORCHARD Werribee Park Heritage Orchard, is located in the heritage precinct along K Road, Werribee. It is a beautiful antique orchard dating from the 1870s. It was renowned for its peaches, grapes, apples, quinces, pears, a variety of plums and several other fruits, as well as walnuts and olives. Over the past few decades the orchard was forgotten and – through neglect – fell into ruin. Recently this historic treasure was rediscovered and we formed a group to restore it to its former glory. In partnership with Parks Victoria, our community group was formed in 2010 to look after the orchard.

How to get involved! Volunteers meet weekly on a Friday morning 9.45-12 to work on the orchard. A break is taken over the summer holidays. Entry is via Gate 5 on K Road. New volunteers are always welcome. Please wear closed toe shoes, a pair of glasses, and bring secateurs if you have them. Weekly activities include pruning, grafting, mulching, planting new trees, building frames and putting up netting.
