Please tell us about your companyand its history?

My father started the business in1983-84 as a trader of cloth, then enteredthe wholesale business.

We started with table print and rollprint, then we moved towards dyeing. We had started as traders of menswearfor the local market and got the initialexperience from it. From 1983 to 1988we did commercial printing and dyeing

and also started on the wider width forthe home textiles. However, this was nota good phase for us and we left this busi-ness.

Having experience in menswear, wedecided to work and specialise in cottonfabrics. We bought some second-handmachines and started our business andstarted our business of wet processing.

When I joined the company in 1994,my father did not let me sit in the officeand I worked on the floor in different

departments such as folding or grey. Ilearned a great deal from the experts whoheld diplomas in their technical fields. In1996 my father suffered a mild stroke fol-lowed by another one in1998. After that,I completely took over the managementof the company in 1999.

Those were indeed very difficult timesfor us. Taking advantage of the situation,a competitor poached our entire teamstarting from the GM to the technicalstaff. Fortunately, I had learned the pro-

duction on the floor and was able to hirea fresh team with a focused vision.

We learned together and put our com-pany back together. Soon after we got verybusy and in 2000 we decided to com-pletely revamp our factory. We boughtnew land and expanded with newmachines. Only the factory roof and boilerwas old and the rest were renovated. Itwas an achievement that our factory wasclosed only for three days during this majorrenovation allowing us to optimise the flow

of all machines. With this change, weincreased our production 1.5 fold. OurFaisalabad factory in terms of cleanlinessand efficiency was compared with the bestof export units. We had state of the artoffices there at that time.

We moved in our present premisesfrom Maqbool road in 2006, after buyingthis place due to our needs for more space. With this renovation we increased our effi-ciency manifold. Most of the machineswere new but our old machines were alsoutilized here in our new setup. In 2010 theproduction in this unit was started.

We worked exclusively on cotton fab-rics and dyed different varieties of 100%cotton. This was a difficult period for meand our company due to extraordinaryworkload until my brother Jamal Janjoined us in 2012 after completing hiseducation and training in the UK.

Today, we have state of the arttechnology such as Goller and otherEuropean brands installed in this facility. And we are able to meet the stringentrequirements of our customers satisfac-torily. Our name in the industry is nowsynonymous with quality.

Why did you opt for the Goller PadSteam Dyeing Range Colora andwhat are its advantages that youcan mention?

The machine is most suitable forcotton. It gives a very fine finish andsoftness. 70-80 % our focus is cottonbased. Conventional business in thisfield is batch process. Previously wewere utilizing conventional techniquesbut now we are doing shirting businessin a continuous manner.

Going for continuous processing wasa great challenge for us. We took thebold decision and with trial and error wehave achieved excellent results and greatsuccess. Many of our competitors tried ittaking our lead but could not succeed.

As our focus is entirely on the localmarket, using a continuous line where itwas never done before, was a great chal-lenge for us. Both Goller ranges; merceriz-ing Optima and Pad Steam dyeing Coloraable to help us meet new challenges suc-cessfully. Our capacity has increased to arecord 6 million meters / month.

As commission dyers, we learned towork with good people as customers whoare doing quality work and expect thebest from us. Since our start in 1999 tilltoday we have never used substandard orcheap products. We continue using thebest chemicals, dyes and auxiliaries withour machines. Because I do not compro-mise on the quality, I get the premiumrates as demanded.

We also have long term customerswho have been with us since last 25 to 30years. Today, to meet the increasingdemand, besides cotton, our mainstay,we are able to work with polyester, vis-cose and light and heavy fabrics for menexcept woollen fabrics.
