“From my very irst introduction to the college,
the atmosphere, core values and vision of mission- to list a few,
were and are the pivotal things that markedly distinguish
the college and continue to stimulate me to study here.
With a suitable placement for almost two years,
I have thoroughly enjoyed the spiritual, academic
and social aspect of the degree.”

Introduction
Today, mission is from everywhere to
everywhere and within that, we have a
particular concern for the diicult mission
ield of Europe. Our vision is to mobilise a
mission force for Europe.
Our team is aware that God is raising up
many young missionaries within Europe and
has sent many missionaries to Europe from
other continents. We believe it is vital to
train both home grown and recently arrived
missionaries together.
he particular diiculty of Europe requires
an innovative approach to mission, practical
in its orientation and with quality at its heart.
For that reason all those who deliver our
courses are practitioners, deeply involved in
the task of building the church. Many of our
lecturers are also church planters.
Mission is always about partnership and
that involves building quality relationships
with partners and students. Partnerships
are particularly expressed in the many
placements that our students undertake.
We love to follow the stories of our students
beyond their graduation and many of our
products and events resource our students in
ongoing ministry.
Our desire is to see a renewed church and
a changed world. ForMission’s ofering of
quality training and education, practical and
local in nature is already helping to achieve
such an outcome, preparing people like you
who are passionate about mission.

FORMISSION.ORG.UK ForMission Prospectus
OUR HISTORY
Springdale College started life in 1980 as
a mission college in Selly Oak, Birmingham,
where prominent missionary Lesslie Newbigin
taught in his last years of active ministry.
In 2009 Springdale College joined Together
in Mission to become a mission agency; with
practical courses accredited by York St John
University, for students from a wide range
of denominations and networks. Today,
Springdale College and Together in Mission
are now known as ForMission.
THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Alongside our academic programmes,
our networking events and think tank
community draw together the most
innovative and inspiring leaders of this
generation. We believe an understanding of
Missio Dei is essential to revive the church.
We work with leaders of missional excellence
around the world to learn and develop the
most impactful way of doing mission in
the 21st century.
SUPPORTING MISSION
We support people and churches to
achieve their vision to be missional in
their local community. As a missional
organisation, our key values are to be
Relational, Innovative, Quality and
Practical in the way that we
equip Leaders.
Our partnerships help us to support our
students in inding meaningful placements
as part of their course. As a networking
community, we are often delighted to
continue this connection with our students
beyond graduation.
ONGOING TRAINING
ForMission College also ofers a range of
practical courses that can often be delivered
in the local church.
Many of our students start out on these
courses before moving on to the BA or MA
programme. We are proud that for many of
our students, ForMission College is their irst
opportunity to study at this level.
OUR NEW IDENTITY
In March 2015, with a growing missional
vision, Springdale College was renamed
ForMission College. his new name and
branding makes it possible for the organisation,
our partners and students to gather its activity
under one simple clear identity.
