RESPA REFORM SEMINAR SERIES “FINAL” RULE IMPLEMENTATION: NEW DANGERS, CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO PREPARE! RESPA Reform is upon us! HUD’s “Final Rule” has been in mandatory effect since January 1, 2010. After over four months of what can only be described as chaotic implementation, it is a good time to review the challenges faced by settlement agents since January 1 as well as review lenders’ varying interpretations of the final rule and their resulting demands on settlement agents. New material The sessions will focus on the challenges, dangers and opportunities encountered in implementing the Final Rule. We will review the purpose of the Final Rule, the new Good Faith Estimate and its relationship to the new HUD-1 Settlement Statement. We will also deal with particular and peculiar lender requirements and how to accommodate them within Landtech. Who should attend? Anyone who routinely prepares, reviews or presents the HUD-1 Settlement Statement and anyone who must deal with loan originators, loan processors and those charged with the responsibility to interpret lenders’ closing instructions. The seminar is intended for escrow officers, settlement processors and their supervisors and managers. This seminar will address issues of final rule implementation as well as review the final rule and the reasons for implementation difficulties.
