We want to know how to stop this poison from spreading from within us and destroying us? The Eight Verses of Mind Training is a renowned text by the 11 th century Kadampa master Geshe Langri Thangpa who teaches us different techniques on just exactly how to do that. In just eight powerful verses, this teaching leads students into the remarkable bodhisattva path. He is also a distinguished educationist and social worker. He had served as a teacher, principle, and director respectively at the Tibetan Children’s Village School, the largest Tibetan school in exile, in Dharamsala for many years. Selected by H. H. the Dalai Lama, he had also been on the Public Service Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration (C.T.A.) as an executive member. He is the key founder of the Bodong Buddhist monastery in Nepal, and also runs number of charity social development projects in various remote, rural, areas in Nepal, such as establishing schools, building bridges, bringing sick and injured Nepalese and Indian villagers to Delhi for medical treatment, etc. He is also a Trustee of the Bright Horizon Children’s Home, an orphanage in Nepal. Since 1997, he has begun to devote a good deal of his time in touring various countries in the West, like Sweden, England, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Israel and the U.S. to give dharma lectures to Western Buddhist students.
