CONTEXT.TheEuropeanstandardEN16234-1“e-CompetenceFramework(e-CF)-AcommonEuropean Framework for ICT Professionals in all sectors - Part 1: Framework”provides areference of 41 ICT Professional competences as required and applied in the ICT workenvironment, using a common language for competences, skills, knowledge and capabilitylevels. The latest version incorporates a set of transversal aspects that address genericcompetences deployed by all competent ICT professionals. The e-CF language can beunderstoodandappliedacrossEuropeandinternationally.Thelateste-CFrevisionreflectsitsrelevance to competitiveness, transparency and convergence of the European ICT SkillslandscapeinaglobaldigitalenvironmentandwasnewlypublishedbyCENinDecember2019.Withwell-foundedrelationshipstootherICTstandardsandcareerstructures,EN16234-1“e-CF”isappliedtoICTservicesbypublicandprivateorganisations,ICTprofessionals,managersandHRdepartments, higher education, vocational education and training (VET), assessmentandaccreditationbodies,socialpartners,professionalassociations,marketanalystsandpolicymakers.WithintheCENServiceAgreement(SA)2018-13EN16234-1„e-CFUserSupport“thesupportingUserGuide for the standard and further relevant documentswill be updated bynewpublicationsplannedin2020/21.
