ANNOUNCEMENT: We will be having drive-thru
communion next Sunday, April 26th from 10am-1130am. All
you must do is load up in your car, hopefully with your loved
ones and drive to Zion. Our Deacons will be here to meet
you with the elements. You can also drop off donations to
support the homeless. We are partnering with Hampton
Roads Ecumenical Lodgings & Provisions, Inc. (H.E.L.P.)
Day Service Center located in Buckroe. Let’s be a blessing
to our community!
Special Announcements
ANNOUNCEMENT: The general elections will be held
on Tuesday, May 5th. Deadline to request an absentee ballot
to be mailed to you is Tuesday, April 28th. Your request
must be received by your Registrar by 5pm. The Virginia
Department of Elections encourages voters to protect their
health during COVID-19 outbreak. Voting absentee in the
coming local May elections is strongly encouraged. Voters
may choose reason "2A My disability or illness" for
Absentee voting in the May 2020 elections due to COVID-
19. Voters who choose the absentee option should do so as
soon as possible so they can get their ballots in time to
return them by mail by Election Day. Apply online for a
Virginia absentee ballot at
https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.
ANNOUNCEMENT: The J. Dett Marshburn Scholarship
Ministry is excited to announce scholarship applications are
now available. Applications and guidelines are available via
email. Please send a request for these items to Sister
Barbara Taylor at [email protected]. All applications and
essays are due no later than Sunday, May 24th to this email
address. For additional information or if you have any
questions, please send an email to include your contact
telephone number to the above email address.
Despite pandemic, local elections are still on track for May. The Virginia Department of Elections says on its website citizens
are "strongly encouraged" to go online and get an absentee
ballot. The website goes on to say voters can check Box 2A
"My disability or illness" because of COVID-19 concerns.
