W Welcome & Thanks
If you are attending your first convention, you will find that this event is one–of–a–kind. It is a place where you can share both your challenges and triumphs with other dads who “get it.” For those returning, it is an event to re–unite with old friends and pass along tips and encouragement. Most of all, it is an event where your opinion is valued and your experiences (good or bad) are respected. Please participate fully, so that you can return home a better father and energized for the life we know. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to communicate with us or any of the other Denver Dads in red shirts. These dads have been instrumental in making this weekend a success along with the rest of the Convention Planning Committee. Thank you for supporting this wonderful event! National At–Home Dad Network
Chris Bernholdt Chris is the dad of three kids, Adam (8), Sarah (6), and Heidi (2). He attended his first convention last year in D.C. and since then has become involved in the NAHDN as the blog editor and has assisted with the Scholarship Committee. Before staying at home he was a high school art teacher for 10 years. Chris has a blog called DadNCharge where he writes about his adventures as a stay at home dad and has recently launched the Philly Dads Group. He and his wife Susie live in Devon, a western suburb of Philadelphia.
Will Culp Will is a father of three (1, 3 and 6) in Not Chicago, IL but is a native of Charlotte, NC. As a lifelong Tar Heel married to a Duke alumnus, he has reached a peaceful compromise to support the Illini and Bears, for the sake of the family. Will has owned Knowshon Moreno on his fantasy team four straight seasons so... Go Broncos? He coaches youth soccer, volunteers at preschool and for a local homeless ministry, The Canteen Run, while also dispensing spiritual advice at an Irish pub two nights a week. In 2008, Will started writing “Illinois Daddio,” a weekly parenting column for a local paper, The Mahomet Citizen. In 2011, a collection of those articles was published as a paperback, “Better Off Dad: Parenting morsels from a stay–at–home daddio.” Hopefully the next book will be a blockbuster spy thriller. His previous work experience includes Arts Administration and Advertising. Will does not usually refer to himself in the third person.
Hogan Hilling Hogan is a 21 year–at–home dad veteran and author of “Rattled: What He’s Thinking When You’re Pregnant” and the award–winning book “Pacifi(her): What She’s Thinking When She’s Pregnant.” He has three boys Grant, Wesley and Matt. Hogan is the Chairman of the Media Relations Committee.

James Kline James, an advocate of at–home parenting, has been the primary caregiver for his family since 2010. Trading his laptop for a diaper bag, James left the Healthcare IT field to conquer child rearing. Disclosing that toddler–hood has been his greatest challenge; above farming, physics and project management. As co–organizer for the Triangle SAHD group in Raleigh, NC, James helped grow membership to over 200 though media exposure and promoting the “coolness factor” of at–home–dads. James also serves as the Southern Regional Coordinator for The National At–Home Dad Network. James restores his own cars, brews his own beer and takes care of his own children... giving many thanks to his supportive and tolerant wife.
Jim O’Dowd Jim has been an at–home dad since 2001, just before the birth of his first (of four) terrific kids. Originally from Chicago, Jim now lives in scenic Boulder, CO where he continues his efforts to decide just what he wants to do when he grows up. Mechanical Engineering is sooo last career… Jim serves as the Chairman of the Convention Committee for the 18th Annual At–Home Dads Convention in Denver, CO on Oct. 18–19, 2013.
Chris Routly Chris is entering his fifth year as an at–home dad. He currently lives with his wife and two sons in Portland, OR. He became an “accidental activist,” as he calls it, when he succeeded in getting Huggies to change an offensive ad campaign and has jumped at the opportunity to be able to discuss modern fatherhood with a wider audience. Late at night, and while his boys (hopefully) nap, Chris blogs about his thoughts and experiences at The Daddy Doctrines and writes and illustrates children’s books. He currently serves as the Website Committee Chairman.
