    users.

    Formatting text in Microsoft Word. How to use Word styles to format text in Word.

    Day 2 Activities

    Basic steps in creating a new Word document and entering simple text.

    Use of tables and tabs to arrange text.

    Use a bulleted paragraph style for bullets and dotpoints.

    Day 3 Activities

    Basics of editing in Microsoft Word: how to add, delete, change, copy, move and format text. How to find and replace text. How to check spelling and grammar.

    Use page numbering and let the text flow from page to page.

    Basic guide to printing your Word document.

    A workshop on “NBA-An outcome based education” under the agies of Technical Education

    Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-III) was held at College of Engineering Roorkee

    (COER) on 18th of August 2018.

    The workshop was started at 10:30 AM with the arrival of Dr.AnitaRawat , Registrar

    Uttarakhand Technical University ,Dehradun and Coordinator TEQIP-III.

    Dr.S.B.Deosarkar,Professor,Dr.BabasahebAmedkar University ,Dr.SanjeevSofat,Professor ,PEC

    University and Dr.G.L. Pahuja,Professor, NIT Kurukshetra were there in the workshop as our

    guests and speakers.

    Maj. Gen. (Dr) Om Prakash Soni, Director General COER welcome the guests and then

    inaugural the workdhop by delivering his address. Dr.AnitaRawat addresses the audience and

    told us about TEQIP as an initiative taken by the university.

    After tea break ,at 11:30AM session 1 started and in this session our speaker Prof.SanjeevSofat

    deliver his lecture on why NBA is important ,Why it is required and what comes under NBA.

    After lunch break , at 2:30 PM session 2 started and in this session Dr.S.B.Deosarkar continues

    with NBA accreditation ,its rules to apply for accreditation. He told us when an institute can

    apply for it and also why it is important.

    At 4:00PM our third speaker deliver his lecture with some more points on NBA accreditation.

    At the end of the workshop Maj.Gen O.P Soni present a memento to the guests as a token of

    love.

    After that he delivers vote of thanks with National Anthem.

    In the workshop Dr.Brijmohan Singh (Dean-Acd), Dr.V.Ksingh(Dean-SW), Dr.D.V Gupta(Den

    Humanities) were present.

    Around 50 participants were there from different institutes.

  • For the successful completion of the workshop Dr.Gunjan Aggarwal HOD,ME department and

    her team members Mr.SohanLal,Ms.DivyaMishra,Ms.Nilima, Mr.Rajesh, Mr.Ankit had worked

    Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights

    As per the direction received from the MHRD innovation cell (MIC), a workshop was organized

    on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for students and faculty members on 10th January, 2019.

    In this workshop there was a two hours session by Prof. Himanshu Joshi, IIT Roorkee (local

    expert of IPR) followed by a two hours Facebook live session from a central expert (Mrs.

    ShwetasreeMajumder).

    Session 1:

    Prof. Himanshu Joshi, IIT Roorkee who is well known for delivering expert lectures on IPR was

    the chief guest for first session. The session was coined by Prof. S P Gupta, DG COER with

    welcome speech. He welcomed our chief guest by presenting a flower bouquet. After that anTV

    interview of Prof. Joshi on IPR was played. Prof Himanshu Joshi started his talk with innovation

    and its progression in India. He discussed some inventions and patents in Engineering field like

    smart-boots, para-scooters, various patents in agriculture field (bicycle weeder, grape flakes) and

    Biomedical field (surgical bandage, dental implant). Then he talked about the Intellectual

    property rights. The main points of his talk are as follows:

    Why to protect IPs

    Counterfeiting and Piracy

    Various HEIs and IP issues

    National IPR Policy

    Session 2:

    Second Session was a Facebook live session organized by MHRD innovation cell. Mrs.

    ShwetasreeMajumder was the speaker of this session. Session was attended by faculty members

    and students of COER. She also explained Intellectual property Right, its requirement, types of

    patents. How to protect our IPs. How to find IPs and to register an IP. She also answered various

    questions asked by the audience.

    At last Prof. S P Gupta, DG COER thanked Prof. Himanshu Hoshi by presenting him a

    memento.

    The Power Station is a Run-of-River scheme on river Ganga located upstream of the holy

    city Hardwar and was commissioned in the year 1980. The Power Station has four units of

    36 MW each. The four Kaplan Vertical Shaft Turbines operate at a head of 32.5 m. Water of

    River Ganga from Pashulok Barrage is diverted through a Power Channel to feed the

    turbines of Chilla Power Station.

    This industrial visit is conducted for providing an on-site experience of working of hydro-

    power Plant and different equipment used in Hydro power plant.

    traumatic brain injury in warfare”. First of all he explained common injuries occurred due to

    bomb explosion at the time of warfare. Then prediction of common injuries that could be

    occurred due the pressure wave generated due to explosion. He explain role of computer

    simulation to in the prediction of injuries. Then he disused a case of head injury due to warfare.

    Its simulation and results were also explained. He motivated students to work on common

    problems using simulation tools.
