You can change your money into pounds in different ways, but you can’t spend your own national currency, not even Euros, without exchanging it first. What is the best way to spend money in the UK? 1. Shibden Hall & Park Lister’s Rd, Halifax HX3 6XGHome of the pioneering Anne Lister. Shibden Hall is the focus of the BBC drama series written by Sally Wainwright, ‘Gentleman Jack’ exploring the life of Anne Lister (1791 - 1840) and those who lived in the Hall and Estate.

The Hall is surrounded by the beautifully restored gardens and estate that forms Shibden Park. There are a range of features and attractions, including a cafe and visitor facilities, miniature railway, boating lake, walking trails, play area, orienteering course and woodland in which to roam.

In 2020, Shibden Hall will re-open from Monday the 2nd March. We currently expect the Hall to be closed for filming for a number of weeks during June - November 2020. If planning ahead then aim for March to May or August when we expect to be open. Watch the website and social media for further details nearer the time.

5. Walker Pit Not so challenging Hike from Shibden Hall to Walker Pit. Find the Upper Carpark near the hall and opposite you will find a green metal gate to go through. Keep Going through the gates to the top, you won’t be disappointed a magnificent view and you will see the gothic ventilation shaft. Pleasebe respectful as this now sits on private land. You may not be able to gain access to walk around it.
