We are working in civil society, business, government, culture and the arts, some of us across sectors and organizations. We strive to improve the well-being and sustainability of our communities and places of work. We are creating and connecting movements for the common good in new and collaborative ways. We are drawn into this space because we feel the possibility of a different way of living and working together. We feel the possibility and have had glimpses of the experience, that a different future is possible. We are aware that we can make this happen in our lives. We have discovered that the principles of self-organisation, participation, ownership and non-linearsolutions are key to both individual and collectivediscoveries.

We are particularly inspired by what happens in thecreative tension between chaos and order – the chaordicfield – where learning, innovation and harvesting takeplace and where wise and sustainable change can bediscovered and grounded into acting wisely.

Our learning will grow out of everyone’s contributionsand presence – we will support each other as co-learners.

We will learn by observation, experience and practice, using our collective experience and wisdom to build asafe and inspiring learning ecology.

Exploring hosting as a practice for collaborationand participatory leadership

Conditions for using different facilitationmethods and tools

Entering the network of learners andpractitioners supporting you in using newskills

Design and lead powerful conversations thatresult in clearer thinking, intelligent solutions, and group coherence

Initiate interactive processes to generate freshthinking, restore trust, and create sharedcommitment to wiser actions

Fundamental organizing patterns that inviteprofound shifts in how we can live and worktogether

This is a practice ground for all who aspireto bring out the best in themselves andothers. It is based on the assumption andexperience that human beings have anenormous untapped potential andresilience.

The Art of Hosting is a practice for a worldthat is becoming increasingly complex andfragmented, where true solutions andinnovations lie not in one leader or oneviewpoint, but in the bigger picture of ourcollective intelligence.

It is a response at a time when institutionsand democracies as we know them arefailing to address the increasing complexityin our world. It is a testing ground for thoseseeking to find new, effective and healthypatterns for organising, innovating andinteracting to create new structures.

There is a growing global community ofpractitioners, supporting each other toexplore and accomplish what we most careabout. It is a self-convening network ofpractitioners / hosts. Art of Hostingtrainings have been offered in Europe, theMiddle East, Africa, Asia and South andNorth America in the past 10 years. Learnmore about Art of Hosting atwww.artofhosting.org
