However, controlled flocculating additives like ANTI-TERRA-203 and ANTI-TERRA-204, which were developed years ago for solvent-borne paints, stabilize pigments as well but also provide an additional benefit, namely improved anti-settling properties. ANTI-TERRA-250

Controlled Flocculating Wetting and Dispersing Additive

for Water-borne Systems

Water-borne coating systems containing inorganic pigments and extenders tend to settle and separate. Commonly used deflocculating additives achieve a perfect stabilization of pigments but settling tendency normally increases. However, controlled flocculating

additives like ANTI-TERRA-203 and ANTI-TERRA-204, which were developed years ago for solvent-borne paints, stabilize pigments as well but also provide an additional benefit, namely improved anti-settling properties. These controlled flocculating additives

form a network via hydrogen bonds, modify the rheology profile and form a yield point. To comply with the requirements of recent water-borne formulations, BYK transferred the successful concept of controlled flocculating additives and designed the logical successor – ANTI-TERRA-250.

Your benefits• Reduced settling of inorganic pigments/fillers due to controlled flocculation• No flooding and floating

Mode of Action

Controlled Flocculation

• Pigment stabilization through

network formation

• The network via hydrogen bondings

formed by association between

additive molecules prevents settling
