Richard Heard's day to day activities involve manaaging and supervising 600 employees engaged in various operations in the airport. The work involves the operations in 2 parts of the airport- the airfield side and the terminals. He oversees the safety and maintenace operations in the airfield side.The terminal side involves the key aspect of security which he has the responisibiity to ensure along with managing the terminal buildings.His day to day work also includes envisioning the long term planning and implementing them.It includes developing the existing methods, anticipating problems and having a contingency plan to deal with them and also most importantly to improve the efficiency of the operations. Mr. Heard also works with different ogranizations to improve coordination and develop an efficient and safe operational system in the airport. Another major part of his day to day activities is the decision making. He often forecasts the future possibilites and demands make appropriate arrangements of the operations in place to meet the demands. All in all he is responsible for all the operational procedures, planning and implementations along with the modifications and developments concerning those operations.
