December 29, 2017 Dear Reverend Fathers, Youth Workers, and GOYA Members: Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Akron, Ohio, is very pleased to be hosting a Metropolis Basketball Tournament the weekend of January 12-14, 2018, and cordially invites you to participate in this fun-filled GOYA event. The Individual Registration Fee per GOYA participant is $25 and the $10 fee per additional chaperones/adults will apply. Registration fees for the tournament are as follows: First Team: $200, Second Team: $185, Each additional Team: $160. If you want your team(s) to participate, please complete the enclosed tournament registration form and send it with your check for the registration fee to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Akron by January 5, 2018. (You may bring your check with you to the Mandatory Athletic Seminars on either January 6th at St Paul, N. Royalton or January 7th at Kimisis Tis Theotokou, Aliquippa. After this, Registration fee subject to $25 late fee per team.) The Holiday Inn in Akron has been selected to house our guests. The hotel is located at 4073 Medina Road, Akron, OH 44333 and the telephone number is (330) 666-4131. The cost of rooms is $89.00 plus tax, per night. Each parish is responsible for making their own reservations. When you call, please tell them that you are with the “GOYA Tournament.” The deadline for rooms and rooming list is Wednesday, January 3, 2018. For your convenience, on Saturday we will be running a continuous concession stand at the Indy Fieldhouse. A variety of breakfast items will be served Saturday morning and many lunch items in the afternoon including, gyros, pizza, chips, candy, fruit, coffee and soft drinks. White Woodlands Soirée is the theme of Saturday evening’s Dinner Dance. Dressy Attire is required—No jeans or tshirts. Please be aware that Vespers will be held in the Church at 7:30 pm prior to dinner. Please make sure that all players arrive at Registration with proper photo identification to certify their ages and (if your GOYA has not done so in advance) with money to pay the individual registration fee at the time of registration.
