Wishing you all wellness,

The past year has been remarkable. Several corporations, foundations, and

individuals supported the Capital Campaign by gifting us with significant

donations. This reality was in response to the communities passion for the

WICWC to build a new, customized centre. The community also banded

together petitioning Kirkland residents to enable our zoning change for our new

building. It was also a busy year for our fundraising team in which we hosted a

variety of extremely successful fundraising events.

BUT... most importantly, in this last year, the number of cancer patients and their

loved ones registered was the highest ever. However, we struggled with a

significant increase in those on the waiting list for services. This unacceptable

reality is why we moved to our new facility in November 2016.

VISION

Financial sustainability and a larger facility to address the growing cancer crisis

in Quebec and continue to provide people living with cancer, the benefits of a

whole-person integrated approach to wellness.

MISSION

West Island Cancer Wellness Centre exists to empower people who are

experiencing cancer by providing them with compassionate support and

comprehensive information for mind, body, and spirit.

WHO WE ARE West Island Cancer Wellness Centre (WICWC) is a registered charity dedicated to offering

compassionate care and support to anyone experiencing cancer - either having it themselves or

supporting someone with cancer.

We believe in a whole-person integrated approach to wellness that focuses on improving the

health and well-being of people living with cancer by addressing their emotional, physical and

spiritual needs. All of our programs and services are FREE OF CHARGE and are created to

support and complement traditional medical practices.

A Little Book About Cancer is designed to help

children who are experiencing cancer – through a

parent, grandparent or other family member – deal

with the hard times. Cancer can be confusing and

scary for children. This workbook is a tool adults can

use to open dialogue about the difficult topics of

cancer in an interactive and creative way.

A little Book About Cancer is going Digital. Thanks to our Pharmaceutical

sponsors below, the WICWC has been working with the company AppWhapp

to develop an app to be launched in Quebec, Ontario and eventually the rest

of Canada. More information to be announced late 2016 early 2017.
