ABOUT SPIE-ISRA CHAPTER
SPIE-ISRA Chapter is one of the three chapters of SPIE International from
Pakistan and thus represents Pakistan worldwide. SPIE-ISRA chapter was
formed in October 2014 to organize and strengthen collaboration between
technologists in the field of optics and other related disciplines. It has
successfully continued sharing knowledge, experiences and creating
environment for sustainable development in targeted fields. SPIE-ISRA is a not
for profit professional society for optics and photonics technology. It organizes
technical conferences, trade exhibitions and continuing education programs for
researchers and developers in the light-based fields of physics, including optics,
photonics and imaging engineering. SPIE-ISRA chapter arranges different
technical workshops, seminars and training to polish their students for technical
growth / expertise.

YOUNG ARTIST POSTER COMPETITION
(JUNE 2015)
Young Artist Competition was arranged by SPIE-ISRA University. The main
purpose of the competition was to encourage the interest optical science in
students of primary and secondary schools. The main focus of arranging the
Young Artist Competition by SPIE-ISRA was to give the concept of optics/light to
the students of middle and secondary levels.

ANTENNA DESIGNING & SIMULATION WORKSHOP
(08-11 JUNE, 2015)
SPIE-ISRA has organized the Antenna Designing & Simulation Workshop for
students and members. It provides an ideal platform for the exchange of
scientific and technical information at academic and industrial levels. SPIE-ISRA
likes to prepare their members and students talented antenna designers who
worked for industries and communication companies according for their
specifications and requirements.
SPIE-ISRA & ISWA ANNUAL FUNCTION
SPIE-ISRA and ISWA (ISRA Students Welfare Association) have arranged the
combine Annual Function of SPIE and SEAS (School of Engineering and Applied
Sciences). On this occasion SPIE-ISRA invited a chair person special guest from
HEC (Higher Education Commission) to show the working of SPIE-ISRA and
educational workshop benefits to the SPIE-ISRA members and also to other
students. In this program different events were performed which are given below:
Speech of General Secretary of SPIE-ISRA.
SPIE-ISRA distributed the certificates to the Antenna workshop attendees.
Oath taking ceremony of SPIE-ISRA executive members.
Speech of Deputy Director of SEAS (School of Engineering and Applied
Sciences).
Speech of Chief Guest.
Oath taking ceremony of SPIE-ISRA members.

CONCLUSION:
SPIE-ISRA student chapter at ISRA University Islamabad, PAKISTAN is playing
a beneficial role of technical grooming for the students. In future SPIE chapter
will arrange more significant activities for their students and members and also
outside students and professionals can attend workshops and lectures.
