    Tobringresidents,families,volunteersandstafftogetherforinteractiveevents,wepremieredFamilyFunNight,heldCasinoNighttowelcometheNewYearandpaintedandenjoyedrefreshmentsatCanvas&WineNight.WhentheCavalierswontheNBAchampionship,Montefiorecelebratedwithitsfirst-evervictoryparade,forwhichwereceivedravereviewsandextensivemediacoverageincludingover60,000“likes”toourparadevideoonFacebook.

    Thisyear,theorganizationimprovedoperationsandfinancialperformancethroughincreasesinvolumeinourrehab,long-termcare,assistedlivingandhospiceprograms.Wewereabletoservemoreresidents,patientsandfamilieswhilemanagingtocontrolcostsandachievesignificantfinancialimprovementthenprioryears.Theseimprovementsallowustoreducethegapbetweengovernmentreimbursementsandthecosttoprovidehigh-qualitycare.Agreaterfocusongrowthandfinancialimprovementwillcontinueinthecomingyear.

    Inpartnershipwithboardmembers,wecraftednewMissionandVisionstatementsthatmorepreciselyreflectwhoweareandwhatwewanttoachieve.(Seepg.3.)

    Inresponsetoastrategicplanpriorityonmemorycare,wecreatedtheMontefioreMemoryCareNetwork,offeringin-homeservicesandsupportalongwithresidentialoptions.MemorycareassistedlivingisofferedatTheWillenskyResidenceatMontefioreandTheDavidandFredaRobinsonResidence,ournew18-suitecommunityatTheWeilsinChagrinFalls.Weinviteyoutovisitourwebsitesforvirtualtoursshowcasingeachcommunity'sbeautifulliving/diningareas,gardensandotheramenities.WewerealsoabletoenhancememorycareservicesthroughagrantfromNOACAforanewvantotransportresidentsandcommunitymemberswithmemoryissues.

    Infiscalyear2015/2016,TheMontefioreFoundationhadabanneryearwithincreasesintheannualsustainingcampaignand100%boardparticipationinfundraising.WeconductedourHomeRun5KRun/Walk“fundraiserandfriendraiser”whichenabledustobroadenourreachanddonorbase.October2016marksour25thanniversaryinBeachwoodandacommunity-wideFallHarvestFamilyFestivalisplannedtothankthecommunityforaquarter-centuryofsupport.

    Everdedicatedtoenhancingtheemployeeexperience,welaunchedAboveandBeyond,anemployeerecognitionprogramthathasbecomeacentralcomponentofourcorporateculture,andMyMontefiore,aninternetportalforemployeenewsandinformation.

    AtMaltzHospiceHouse,nowopenmorethanayear,wehavecaredforover150patientsinthissereneandelegantadditiontoourBeachwoodcampus.ThecommunitycanalsocountontheVinneyHospiceandPalliativeCareteam,intheirownresidenceorinMaltzHospiceHouse,tobringthemcomfortandpeaceofmindatcriticaltimes.

    Thishasbeenayearofchangesandchallengesforourorganization–ayearfilledwithopportunity,growthandachievement.Blessedwithdedicatedstaff,boardmembers,donorsandvolunteers,wecontinuetostrivetowardexemplaryprogramsandservicestofulfillourenduringmission.
