Dear Friends, The Lake Area Free Clinic (LAFC) has been the medical home for low income, uninsured Waukesha County adult residents since 2001. Clinic patients receive primary and specialty medical care, medication and practical information they need to maintain their health in a friendly and compassionate atmosphere. The Clinic also assists patients in locating follow-up resources and serves as a dental home for low income adults without private dental insurance. As LAFC enters its 19th year of operation – funded solely by donations and grants – it continues to provide vital support and assistance to those who remain uninsured in our community. In Waukesha County alone, this population is estimated to be 16,000 for medical and 35,000 without private dental insurance. In 2018 nearly 1,700 people in our community were afforded the dignity of getting their basic health care needs met at the Clinic. The Clinic had 3,496 medical patient visits and 4,190 dental patient visits in 2018. During the past two years more than 150 eligible patients were transitioned from LAFC to insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act’s insurance Marketplace or BadgerCare. LAFC continues to provide a remarkable amount of services with a dedicated staff, hard working volunteers who donated more than 16,000 hours of service in 2018, and prudent stewardship of its resources. Clinic patients’ needs are also met through the generous donation of hundreds of thousands of dollars of lab, x-ray and imaging services provided by ProHealth Care, Aurora Health Care and many other in-kind donations from local providers. As we evolve and add services to meet crucial needs, we are so grateful to all those in the community who provide the means for us to carry on our critical work! Dear Friends,

The Lake Area Free Clinic (LAFC) has been the medical home for low income,

uninsured Waukesha County adult residents since 2001. Clinic patients receive

primary and specialty medical care, medication and practical information they need

to maintain their health in a friendly and compassionate atmosphere. The Clinic also

assists patients in locating follow-up resources and serves as a dental home for low

income adults without private dental insurance.

As LAFC enters its 19th year of operation – funded solely by donations and grants –

it continues to provide vital support and assistance to those who remain uninsured

in our community. In Waukesha County alone, this population is estimated to be

16,000 for medical and 35,000 without private dental insurance.

In 2018 nearly 1,700 people in our community were afforded the dignity of getting

their basic health care needs met at the Clinic. The Clinic had 3,496 medical

patient visits and 4,190 dental patient visits in 2018.

During the past two years more than 150 eligible patients were transitioned

from LAFC to insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act’s insurance

Marketplace or BadgerCare.

LAFC continues to provide a remarkable amount of services with a dedicated

staff, hard working volunteers who donated more than 16,000 hours of service in

2018, and prudent stewardship of its resources. Clinic patients’ needs are also met

through the generous donation of hundreds of thousands of dollars of lab, x-ray

and imaging services provided by ProHealth Care, Aurora Health Care and many

other in-kind donations from local providers.

As we evolve and add services to meet crucial needs, we are so grateful to all those

in the community who provide the means for us to carry on our critical work!
