ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Modern College of Professional studies is located in the Anand Industries estate,
Mohan Nagar of the Ghaziabad District of the Uttar Pradesh. It is co- Education
College affiliated to the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.
The College was established on 03rd July, 2003 under the aegis of Ganesh Shiksha
Samiti and received recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC)
under 2(f) as Modern College of Professional Studies on 01st April, 2008 and
under 12(B) as Modern College of Professional Studies on 22nd November, 2016.

LANGUAGE LAB
MCPS established a language lab in order to make students proficient in language
communication. The purpose of a language lab is to involve students to actively
participate in language learning exercises and get more practice than otherwise
possible in a traditional classroom environment. Lab is well-equipped for the
students to include them in their course work and give them full opportunity to
utilize their skills of communication.

WORK- EXPERIENCE LAB
MCPS provides an exciting opportunity for early career students and creative
practitioners to push boundaries take creative risks and develop concepts for
works that respond to the unique potential of audiences. Teachers will be
encouraged to think in new ways about the presentation of work for large-scale
public events and to tackle the logistics involved in scaling up for complex and
ambitious projects in an outdoor setting.

LIBRARY
The MCPS library supports the university's academic and research programmes
by meeting the information requirements of students, researchers, faculty, and
institutions. The library’s services are offered electronically on users’ desktops,
in an IT and Wi-Fi enabled campus.
The MCPS has a well-furnished and efficiently organized Library. It is well
stocked with latest editions of Books by eminent authors on various titles to cater
to needs and requirements of its readers. The MCPS has also provided the facility
of Book-Bank to the student. It has rich collection of books including text book,
reference books.

The Teacher Educators of the institution engage students in active learning with
full involvement of the students. Best efforts are made to establish connection
between theory and practice. For this purpose, different activities like Micro

Teaching, Simulated Teaching and Practice Teaching are organized by the
institute.
In B.Ed. Classroom Seminar is compulsory for every student in their Core-
Paper. In this Seminar they have to present their content through Power Point
Presentation, topic of which will be provided by the concern faculty and its
evaluation is made by the observation of their presentation.
MICRO TEACHING
Micro teaching was conducted from 15th November, 2016 to 25th November 2016
The student’s teachers used innovative Microteaching Techniques for developing

Single Micro lesson plan was delivered by each student teacher per day. The plans

PRACTICE TEACHING PROGRAMME
During B.Ed. session, pupils-teachers are provided with inputs and skill for their
practice teaching programme. The purpose of this component of the course, in
addition to equipping them with pedagogical skills, is to orient the pupil-teachers
to their duties, responsibilities and norms to be followed in their practice teaching
schools.

PRACTICE TEACHING:
After the completion of simulated teaching all pupil teachers are prepared to
present lesson in their respective teaching methods. Practice teaching is carried
out in different schools, this year it was organized in Seven schools. Each student
has to deliver a lesson plan in a day which was evaluated by the teacher educator.
The feedback is provided to the students on the lesson plan register. The peers
also observe about ten lesson plan of their classmates and give the feedback on
the observation file. Teaching is aided with working models and effective
teaching aids. They are guided to prepare various teaching aids so that the lesson
can be made interesting for all the students.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
(B.Ed. SESSION 2016-18)
Date: 21st to 23rd July 2016
Venue : Seminar Hall
Total Student Present : 135
The Orientation Program for the first year students was held on Wednesday, 21st
to 23rd July and saw various dignitaries welcoming the fresher’s. The major
objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the
academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the Institute and
ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the
students.
Day-1 (21/07/2016)
The program was inaugurated by lamp lighting in front of Maa Saraswati, by,
Secretory sir Mr. Vineet Goel, Dr. Nisha Singh Principal of MCPS and other
faculty members. Next, a brief description of the College, which included the
motto, history and reputation of college along with recent achievements was
given by the anchor Mrs. Aditi Sharma. After this a break is given to the
programme by providing refreshment arranged by Mr. Pradeep Sharma.
After the break two topics:
1. “Your Contribution to Society Being a Teacher &
2. Your Expectation from B.Ed. Courses”, were given to the students by
Day-2 (22/07/2016)
Second day of Orientation Programme started with worship of Goddess
Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge. After this subject wise description is given
by the concerned faculty members. Then legal assistance is given by Mr. Arjun
Dabas. After that Mrs. Prabha Bahuguna told the library rules and regulation to

the students. After this lunch break is provided. After that, BTC students
presented a beautiful group dance which was appreciated by all the students and
faculty members. At last Mrs. Monika Bansal summarized the topic and
announced the topic for next day.
Day-3 (23/07/2016)
Third day also started with the lamp lighting and God prayer by B.Ed.
Students.Then, Principal Dr. Nisha Singh told the Importance of values in life.
She said for the progress of our values, we need both parents and teachers.
After that, B.Ed students of previous year presented a beautiful group dance
which was appreciated by all the students and faculty members.At last Mr.Vinesh
Sharma sum up the topic and motivate all the students by appreciating them and
convey their wishes for future.

Objectives-
1. Introducing Students to college life
2. Acclimating students to their new surroundings and providing them an
overview about curriculum of M.Ed. course.
3. Providing an opportunity to all faculty members to meet the newest
members of the organization and interact with them.
Dr. Subodh Gupta then invited P.K. Mishra for providing a strong overview of
academic expectations; students will be better prepared to meet the challenges of
collegiate academics. He shared the complete outline of the One-Year M.Ed.
Curriculum very precisely and effectively.
Students were also made aware about the opportunities to be socially integrated
into the college culture. Social activities include Sports, Fresher Parties, Adieu,
Educational Trips, Co-curricular events etc. This was then followed by Dr. Kanak
Rani who gave necessary information regarding Project research work
(IIndSem).

The main objective of conducting an Orientation Programme is to transform a
student into a learning and creative student. Starting college can cause much
anxiety in the heart of a new college student because of all the unknowns- How
the new college would be? How the fellow students would turn out to be? How
would be the faculty members? And so on and so forth. There is so much to be
curious about. The purpose of Orientation Programme is designed to guide
students in answering these questions. Prior to the beginning of classes, students
are given an overview of the complete realm of campus life, from academics to
social activities, through a period of day referred to as orientation. To serve the
said purpose, Modern College of Professional Studiesalso organized Orientation
Programme from on 3rd September 2016.

Co-Curricular activities are an essential part of our life. To enhance the creative
and imaginative skills of students, “The Workshop of Art &Aesthetics (Flower
Making)” was conducted by Department of Education of the M.C.P.S College.
For this workshop all the B.Ed. (1st Year) students were included. The students
came alive with the different attractive flowers making materials & shown their
creativity to make the bouquet.
Every student learns Organdy Flower Making in three days. Every student
showed their best talent in making Beautiful bouquet. This workshop filled the
atmosphere with the spirit of creativity.

A guest lecture was organized in seminar hall of Modern College of Professional
Studies on the “World Ozone Day”. All the students gathered in Seminar hall.

After the Guest Lecture, there is a Poster Making Completion was organized. The
theme of this event was "Save The Ozone Layer". All the participant was divided
into the groups. Each group was formed of 5 students. Before the competition
begun, students made sure that their work will fit the criteria for judging.
The decided criteria of the poster and slogans were : (1) Relevance to the theme,
(2) Finishing, (3) Colour Combination, (4) Presentation

“ACTION RESEARCH”

Objectives of The Workshop-
1. Discuss the nature of action research (how it is similar to and different from
other kinds of researches, for example) and the steps to be taken in conducting it.
2. Discuss issues related to action research writing.
3. Explore their classroom situations in order to come up with relevant and
innovative topics for action researches in the context of teaching English and
Filipino subjects;
4. Formulate possible questions and identify research methods and data gathering
tools that are appropriate in action research writing.
Schedule of Action Research Workshop was divided into two Parts. First sessions
were covered the theoretical Aspect by the honored Chief Guest L.C. Singh,
Retired Professor of NCERT and Second Session was covered the practical
Aspect by the Chief Guest P.K. Mishra Professor of CCS University.

WORLD STUDENT’S DAY CELEBRATION

On the occasion of “World Student Day” an in-house symposium was organized
in the premises of Modern College of Professional Studies, Mohan Nagar
Ghaziabad on the topic “Contribution of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam for Society”. The
day was celebrated with giving the tribute to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Program
started traditionally with the lighting of lamp by the Principal of MCPS, Dr.Nisha
Singh and HODs of all department. Saloni (B.Ed. I year Student) anchored the
initial program. There were total 10 participants from various departments of the
college. All participants share their views on the Contribution of Dr. APJ Abdul
Kalam. After the student’s views, faculty members sharing their views on topic.
After that Principal Dr. Nisha Singh shared her views. She said that Dr. Abdul
Kalam Known as The Missile Man of India. Kalam has inspired and touched
the hearts of millions in India and abroad. His life, his work, his books and his
quotes are truly rousing. His work at the Indian Space Research Organization
(ISRO) in the seventies and eighties was crucial in making India.

It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on
August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years to us to break shackles of slavery.
People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show.
Our college also celebrates this festival every year. For this year we had made all
the preparations. In the morning College Students marched out in a procession
through the main streets of the town with a band playing the National Anthem
with their faculty members. Mr. K V Sirohi was the Chief Guest of the
Programme. He hoisted the national flag on the college building sharp at 9:30 am.
All the students and teachers saluted the flag and then sang the National Anthem.
Then followed the Cultural Programme. Patriotic Poems and Songs were recited
both by the teachers and the students. Some students also presented the group
dance and skits.

On the 5th day of Hindu month Maagh/Maghd considered as the first day of
spring known as Vasant Panchami . To mark this day, the Modern College of
Professional studies celebrated Vasant Panchami on 1st Feb, 2017.
Entire staff and students participated in Pooja to seek the blessings of the goddess
of wisdom. The beginning of the Celebration with Saraswati Vandana, the college
premises reverberated with holy chants, shlokas and devotional songs sung by the
college choir. Various cultural programmes were also held to mark the advent of
spring and bid adieu to winter season.
After Performing the various cultural activities, Dr. Suboh Bala Gupta told us

arrangements with complete energy and excitement. At 10:00 am, Students came

department. Two students started the Tilak Ceremony. Principal Mam alongwith

In which experts of yoga had been invited from “BHARTIYA YOG
SANSTHAN” To instruct the students. All the students arrived college in
morning at 8 O’ clock. All the Faculty members also present there, Principal Mam
welcomed the yoga teachers Mr. Virendra Verma, Mr Deshraj and Mr. Yogesh
Sharma, and introduced them to the students. Then Principal Mam shared her
views regarding Yoga with the student, she told that Yoga play very important
role in keeping us physically and mentally fit, everyone must give some time to
you out of the busy schedule.
The second day of the camp again started with morning prayers, this was
followed by few aasans like Tikonaasan, Tarasan, Brajaasan, AanulomVilom etc.
On the third day of yoga camp, Hon’bl chief guest Shri Desh Raj ji, all the
students, faculty members and Principal mam attended the camp. Few Asans were
demonstrated by acharyaji like Surya namaskar, Vajrasan, Taadasan etc. Acharya

WORLD HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

On the eve of the auspicious occasion of World Human Rights Day a very
thoughtful and knowledgeable program were organized in the conference room
within the college precincts. First of all the organizer welcomed all the present
members and introduced them with the rational and objectives of the program.
Thereafter Dr. Gajendra Singh shared his views and knowledge about the Human
Rights Day and objectivity of UNO. HoD B.Ed Dr. Rachna Kant shared her
views on the importance of the celebration of World Human Rights Day. Than
Asst. Prof. Pradeep Singh came on stage and enlightened everyone with his
profound knowledge of the subject.
As the last speaker Principal Mam Dr. Nisha Singh shared her views and
enlightened everybody with the concept of Human Rights through the ancient
literature and mythological stories and highlighted the importance of the notion
of Human Rights in the life of a common man and she has also attended the

The Tree Plantation programme began with students gathering in the ground. In
the spirit of the day, they had brought small little saplings to be planted in the

the responsibility related to this Natakwas on Mrs. Manisha Shishodia. The
objective of this Natak was to develop awareness among the people who lived in
rural area.

their present at the place where the play was held to encourage and motivate the
students.Through this play students created awareness in the society about the

women cell of the college. Dr. Sumita Maharania a renowned Gynaecologist of
the area and her team agreed for the noble cause and conducted the health check-
up of College Girl students.
To create awareness among the college girls and other women of the nearby area
were also persuaded to get their health check-up. The health check-up not only
included checking up weight & B.P. Female related problem were also discussed
and diagnosed by Dr. Sumitra and her team.

Modern college of professional studies organized an Alumni Meet on
25thSeptember 2016. The dates of this Meet were declared in the month of July
itself and the news spread far and wide. Many of the alumni played active role in
contacting their batch mates and others. The Meet was attended by 60 alumni
more than about 60 alumni from this group attended the Meet. It was a great
pleasure to know about their accomplishments in professional lives. Most of them
were visiting their Alma Mater for the first time since their graduation, and
naturally were thrilled to be back in the campus again. About 10 alumni attended
the Meet with their spouses and children. They very proudly took their families
around the campus and showed the places where they lived and spent time.

The concept of alumni meet evolved for needs from both the ends, i.e.
academicians and professionals, in the aim of building a bridge between college
life and career life, so that the fresher graduates are made proactive to face the
current challenges of competitive professional world. Both the ends shall work
hand in hand to help each other for achieving the goal. The idea took shape and
formation of Alumni Association turned into reality. More than 100 alumni
visited Alumni Cell office & were cherished during this year. Useful discussions
were held with them.

The Inaugural session was followed by the welcome speech given by Principal
Dr. Dr.Nisha Singh and cultural programme by our students and alumni and
artists of Cultural committee presenting the traditional Himachal dances mixed
with some more current dance forms. Great bonhomie was observed everywhere
with old students reliving their old memories with their batch mates, seniors and
juniors. Many of the current students were also seen interacting with their pass
out seniors and learning from their experiences. In all, the ambience was electric
with people seen chatting and dancing in groups.

The camp was organized under the guidance of Mr. Shyam Singh (District
Commissioner, Bharat Scout & Guide). The camp continued for 3 days in which
the students got to learn many ways to cope up with some adverse circumstances.
They showed a message of Unity in Diversity of India by making colorful tents
using bed sheets and dupattas.

First Aid, Pyramids, make stretchers etc. The camp was closed on 8thOctober 2016

ADIEU was organized in MCPS on 15th April, 2017 with full enthusiasm and
liveliness all around in college premises. The enthusiasm and gusto of the party
peeled off its layers with smiles, tears, reminiscences and a cultural bonanza
comprising songs, dances and other eye-catching items. The main attraction of
the programme was the performance of band group. Principal Dr. Nisha Singh
concluded the farewell with her message and encouraged the students to become
better human being and wished them luck for their future endeavours. Chief Guest
