LETTER FROM THE CEO
DONATE NOW FOR THE FUTURE EVERY CHILD
DESERVES.
In 2015, CureSearch continued to focus on finding cures
for the 40,000 children undergoing cancer treatment
each year. We developed the Catapult Initiative as a way
to drive successful research out of the academic lab and
into pediatric clinical trials and eventual commercialization.
We elicited and selected the very best projects with the
brightest researchers, and then partnered with grantees to
help drive their work forward. With the help of our donors,
partners and loyal supporters, we are advancing the fight to
transcend the barriers of a broken research system, because
every child deserves to live a long, healthy life. It’s a fight we
will never give up, and one we hope you will join.

LEARN MORE about the impact we are having on ending children’s cancer.
THE CURESEARCH MISSIONOur mission is to end children’s cancer by driving targeted and innovative research with measurable results in an accelerated time frame.
THE RESEARCH VISIONImprove children’s cancer treatment and cures to deliver the potential for childhood cancer patients to lead long, healthy lives.
OUR IMPACTFrom the testing of 14 new drugs, the identification of nearly 600 new drug targets and most excitingly, one new treatment that promises to enter a pediatric clinical trial in 2016, CureSearch is driving research to results.
IMPACT REPORT

THE CURESEARCH DIFFERENCE
We focus only on children’s cancer. We’re not here just to fund research, we’re here to drive patient impact.
We invest in large-scale grants over a three-year timeframe, which allows
our researchers to focus on their work, not fundraising.
We hold ourselves - and our grant recipients - accountable through a novel measurement framework and frequent
reporting to our constituents.
Our Scientific Advisory Council and Scientific Review Board brain
trust is unmatched.
We build strong, long-term partnerships with our funded
researchers so that successful work is supported beyond the scope of
their original CureSearch grant.
We are bridging the ‘valley of death’ by creating unique partnerships with biotech and pharma to ensure that
promising research makes it out of the lab and into the clinic.
We propel discoveries over the Valley of Death and move treatments and cures out of the lab and into clinical trials by bringing
together leaders in academia, industry, policy regulation, private foundations, as well as parents to accelerate the fight to
end children’s cancer.

THE ACCELERATION INITIATIVE
ACCELERATION INITIATIVE DRUGDISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT PIPELINE
Through this $10M trailblazing initiative, CureSearch invests in the most innovative pediatric cancer research. We convene the foremost experts in children’s cancer treatment and research to identify the greatest challenges facing the children’s cancer field today. We then target grants that address the
challenges in an accelerated timeframe.
All Acceleration Initiative research projects have the following characteristics:
Highly innovative with the potential to break new
ground in the field
Probability of clinical application in an accelerated
timeframe
Ability to overcome scientific and therapeutic roadblocks to speed up the delivery of
new and improved therapies
