Year of the Report: 2016-17

Section A: Plan of action chalked out in the beginning of the year towards

quality enhancement.

In the direction of enhancement of quality, the IQAC planned the following

activities for the year 2016-17;

1. To start new skill oriented, need based UG/PG programmes

2. To conduct academic enhancement programmes for students, teachers and supporting staff

3 To introduce M Sc in Botany and Zoology

4. Preparation to introduce CBCS system for UG programmes

5. Conducting Workshops, Seminars, Conferences, Symposia & Training

Programmes

6. To strengthen research activities in the college

7. To apply for BiSEP Programme

The Vision & Mission statements, goals and objectives of the college are as

follows:

VISION:

To be known as an institution providing need based, skill integrated, cost effective,

quality and holistic education, transforming the students into globally competitive

employable and responsible citizens and to be recognized as centre of excellence.

To create and acquire relevant knowledge along with skills and global competencies

and disseminate the same among students

To provide holistic education through relevant curricula, programmes and pedagogic

innovations focusing on employability and self employment

To undertake research work contributing to the creation of knowledge, skills and its

applications for sustainable development

To establish linkages and collaborations for the betterment of teaching, learning,

research and extension activities

To provide good infrastructure, human resource and necessary support services for

the betterment of students’ progress and welfare

To promote national integration, human rights, universal brotherhood and community

development activities through inclusive practices

UGC Sponsored State Level One Day Workshop on Choice Based Credit Systemwas organized by the College on 11 March 2017. Prof. P. Nagabhushan, DOS inComputer Science, University of Mysore, Mysuru were the Chief Guest andInaugurated the function. Prof. T.D. Subbanna, Director, College Education Division,JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru were presided over the function. Prof. B.V.Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive was guest of honour.

Golden Jubilee Lecture Series was organized by the PG Dept. of Commerce On the

occasion of Centenary Celebrations of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri. ShivarathriRajendra Mahaswamiji & Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the College on 20 May 2016and the topic was Corporate Social Responsibility : Issues & Challenges. TheResource Person was Prof. B.R. JSS tantrik 2k16 Presents Innovatus (Science Fest) On the occasion of BirthCentenary of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji &College Golden Jubilee Celebration was organized by Science departments of thecollege on 4-5 April 2016. Prof. K.S. Rangappa, Vice-chancellor, University ofMysore, Mysuru inaugurated the function. Prof. T.D. Subbanna, Director, CollegeEducation Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha presided over the function. PadmashreeDr. V. Prakash, Distinguished Scientist – CSIR – India, Hon. Director of Research,Innovation & Development, JSS Mahavidyapeetha delivered valedictory address.Prof. S. Shivakumaraswamy, Secretary-2, JSS Mahavidyapeetha distributed theprizes and valedictory function was presided over by Prof.B.V Sambashivaiah, ChiefExecutive of the college.

Kala Vaibhava (Arts Fest), On the occasion of Birth Centenary of His Holiness

Jagadguru Dr Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji & College Golden JubileeCelebration was organized by Arts departments of the college on 21 April 2016. Itwas inaugurated by Prof. M.
