2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes :
The entire process of academic delivery is organized around the system of academic calendar
course manuals and semester quality reports. Course manuals are prepared comprehensively to
standardize the quality of teaching. These manuals contain information ranging from assignments
to previous year questions papers. Subject files are prepared on the basis of these course manuals.
The subject files incorporate attendance sheets and Teacher Assessment Forms apart from the
information gleaned from the course manuals which serve as reference materials in the library.
The Course Manuals are revised at the end of every semester in the light of the changes
necessitated by the classroom situation and growth of knowledge.
Also, based on the structuring of academic delivery of course materials, department heads and the
Director appraise the academic curriculum delivery system on a monthly basis. This is
encapsulated in the monthly reports that help in taking corrective action in areas of need.
Also at the end of the semester, a detailed semester quality report for each class is prepared by the
class coordinator. These semester quality reports help in shaping a panoptic perspective of the
entire semester and in making suitable corrective changes in future.
The IQAC during its quarterly academic audit examines relevant documents such as subject file
and CC’s Monthly Report to check on syllabus coverage and whether effective pedagogical
techniques were employed to ensure transfer of learning in class.

Semester Quality Reports are prepared at the end of every semester. There are evaluated by a team of
senior faculty member & the HOD concerned. The evaluation report is submitted to the IQAC for its
comments and suggestions.

fledged and take up new ventures
Govindpuri village is amidst the labyrinth of tiny villages, some with very thin
population and incredibly with lowest percentage of literacy. Ignorance and illiteracy
estrange them from the fast moving hi-tech world. Hence it is imperative on the part
of the college to extend their service and give exposure which is the dire need of the
people. It has taken all appropriate measures to empower the rural women to
progress in their life.
The Rotaract Club of JIMS creates awareness of the Government Welfare schemes.
Another important mission of Rotaract is to equip the Self Help Group Women with
traditional and modern skills of different trades, to generate income and improve
their financial status.
The target groups in the villages face several problems regarding access to education,
health facility, drinking water supply, power supply and transport. The student
volunteers of each class are divided into six groups to take up different tasks
executed in 70 hours to reach specified target. It is accomplished by the end of their
degree.

Hygiene, Education, People’s organization, Application of Knowledge and
Liaison with Government Agencies. Organizing awareness camps, meetings,

goals.
The first group aims at giving environmental education, advocating sanitation
and smokeless brick kilns. The second group makes a survey of health
problems and gives required guidance.
The third group propagates literacy programmes, non-formal education,
readmitting dropouts and encouraging people to watch educational
programmes.
The fourth group focuses on the application of knowledge acquired by
students in their respective subjects to the people in the adopted villages.
The sixth group liaises with different Government Agencies like District
Rural Development Agency, Social Welfare Board, Block Development
Office, Panchayat Union Office and Transport Corporation to get their needs
fulfilled.
Each department executes its plan according to the nature and convenience of
its resources. The highlights of the work done by the departments are as
follows:

plays and dramas and programme to develop reading and writing skills of the
school children. Students of English discipline teach Communicative Skills in
English, conduct language games to school children and teach them the uses
of mass media. Students of History highlight the social issues of the villages
and the country at large and instill patriotism to promote peace and harmony

Challenges
Students intake varies in quality and quite a few students have no work experience.
It is imperative that students understand well the complex problems being faced by
industry. To this end tie-ups are being forged with companies for extending summer
internships from the existing two months to four or even six month. Similarly tie-ups
with companies for assigning students more live projects of short duration is also being
looked at.
Need to develop soft skills amongst students as most schools/colleges do not equip
students with such skills which are necessary for becoming successful managers.
Recruiting of faculty with Doctoral degree, research capability and industry background
is a challenge as most candidates rarely posses all the three attributes.
