The college extends its deepest appreciation to all the following people and organizations who have so generously donated these

scholarships and awards.

YVONNE KERR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - YEARS 10, 11 or 12 - $200 This scholarship is to be a citizenship award based on the student's contribution to, and active participation in, the College community. This scholarship is administered by the Parents' Association in memory of Yvonne, who made an outstanding contribution to the life of the College. CHRISTINE YOUNG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $75 This scholarship is awarded to the student who has produced outstanding work in Commerce. This scholarship is presented by the Young family in memory of their daughter Christine, who was a student of this College when tragically killed by a drunk driver.

YEAR 7 • KOOWEERUP MASONIC LODGE NO 323 SCHOLARSHIP - YEAR 7 - $250

This scholarship is awarded to an excellent student to assist the furtherance of his/her education.

• UNIFORMS BY DESIGN ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP – YEAR 7 – $200 This scholarship is awarded to a student who excels in his/her studies.

• ROTARY CLUB OF KOOWEERUP/LANG LANG ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP – YEAR 7 – $200

This scholarship is awarded to a student who excels in his/her studies.

YEAR 8

• KOOWEERUP MASONIC LODGE NO 323 SCHOLARSHIP - YEAR 8 - $250 This scholarship is awarded to an excellent student to assist the furtherance of his/her education.

• PERSONAL BEST JUNIOR AWARD - $250 Personal Best is the College’s first core value. This award is presented to a student from Year 7, 8 or 9 for representing what it means to strive for one’s personal best consistently throughout the year.

• LIONS CLUB OF KOOWEERUP SCHOLARSHIP - YEAR 8 - $250 This scholarship is awarded to a worthy student who has a view to continuing their education to a senior level in the College - a student who applied him / herself consistently throughout the year.

This scholarship is awarded for academic / all round performance.

• WESTERNPORT ROAD LINES SCHOLARSHIP - YEAR 9 - $200 This scholarship recognises the continued application and effort of a student throughout the whole year. It is to assist him/her to continue his/her secondary education.

• KOOWEERUP MEN’S SHED AWARD – YEAR 9 - $100 Awarded to a student, boy or girl, who really tries hard and enjoys practical activities and helping people out.

YEAR 10 • KOOWEERUP MASONIC LODGE NO 323 SCHOLARSHIP – YEAR 10 - $250

This scholarship is awarded to an excellent student to assist the furtherance of his/her education.

• PERSONAL BEST SENIOR AWARD - $250 Personal Best is the College’s first core value. This award is presented to a student from Year 10 or 11 for representing what it means to strive for one’s personal best consistently throughout the year.

• BENDIGO BANK OF KOOWEERUP SCHOLARSHIP - YEAR 10 - $100 This scholarship is awarded to an excellent student, particularly in Mathematics or English.

• LIONS CLUB OF KWR SCHOLARSHIP – YEAR 10 - $100 This scholarship is awarded to a student who has shown outstanding application to his/her studies.

• THE KWONG LEE DOW YOUNG SCHOLARS PROGRAM The University of Melbourne runs the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars program for students who show high potential to succeed at university. Each year students are invited to apply for this prestigious program which provides access to numerous events and activities to enhance students’ secondary studies.

YEAR 11

• KOOWEERUP MASONIC LODGE NO 323 SCHOLARSHIP – YEAR 11 - $250. This scholarship is awarded to an excellent student to assist the furtherance of his/her education.

• SHIRE OF CARDINIA SCHOLARSHIP - YEAR 11 - $150 This scholarship is to be used to assist with costs to complete the V. C. E.

YEAR 12 • KOOWEERUP MASONIC LODGE NO 323 SCHOLARSHIP – YEAR 12 - $250

This scholarship is awarded to an excellent student to assist the furtherance of his/her education.

• BENDIGO BANK of KOOWEERUP – Two bank accounts of $50 each for two Year 12 students who consistently endeavour to do their best.

OTHER ACADEMIC AWARDS • THE ART ACQUISITION PRIZE - $500

This annual prize is presented to the student who produces the most outstanding individual piece of artwork.

• THE CATHERINE NEEDHAM HISTORY PRIZE - $100 This annual prize has been established to honour Catherine Needham’s outstanding contribution to the College over many years as a teacher and particularly in the area of History teaching. The prize is awarded to the student with the highest results in VCE History.

• THE LYN INGRAM GEOGRAPHY PRIZE - $100 This annual prize has been established to honour Lyn Ingram’s outstanding contribution to the College over many years as a teacher and particularly in the area of Geography teaching. The prize is awarded to a student with excellent results in Year 12 Geography.

• THE JANE CLAY FOOD TECHNOLOGY PRIZE - $100 This annual prize has been established to honour Jane Clay’s outstanding contribution to the College over many years as a teacher and particularly in the area of Food Technology teaching. The prize is awarded to a student with excellent results in Food Technology and/or VET Hospitality.

• DUFFY AND SIMON LAW AWARD - $200 This award is provided by Duffy and Simon Lawyers in Pakenham. It recognizes academic merit and hard work in Legal Studies or a related area. The recipient receives a certificate, $200 cheque and a celebratory gift.

• THE SCIENCE PRIZE -$100 This is a prize to recognize outstanding achievement in VCE Science subjects.

WHOLE SCHOOL AWARDS • AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE LONG TAN LEADERSHIP AND TEAMWORK AWARDS

This awards program has been created to acknowledge the achievements of young people, who have demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership and teamwork either within our school or in the wider community. Year 12 $550, Year 10 $250

• HEATHER MCMILLAN AND ANNIE LOFT COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD - $150 This annual award has been established at the request of the students to honour the outstanding contribution of Heather McMillan and Annie Loft to the students of the College over many years, particularly through fundraising and organizing The Big Breakfast each year. The award is presented to a student who has also made an outstanding contribution to the students at the College.

• HPV AWARD - $50 This award is donated by Bruin Beasley, a former student, to be presented to the student who makes an outstanding contribution to the HPV program.

• BAND SCHOLARSHIP - $250 x 2 This scholarship is awarded to a student who has made an outstanding contribution to the Band throughout the year, through both attendance and performance.

• THE SUE HERMANS ENDEAVOUR AWARD - $100 This award is presented to a student who exemplifies the core values of the College and is always willing to be involved in the life of the College and help others in need.

This award is presented to a student who exemplifies the core values of the College, consistently works to the best of his/her ability and is prepared to go above and beyond what is expected.

• WORLD STRIDES SCHOLARSHIP – two awards of $125 For best demonstrating the values of an ambassador while travelling with the school

Yvonne Kerr Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is to be a citizenship award based on the student's contribution to and active participation in the College community. This scholarship is administered by the Parents' Association in memory of Yvonne, who made an outstanding contribution to the life of the College. The 2018 winners are Joel Mudge and Camryn Walker Christine Young Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to the student who has produced the best work in Commerce. This scholarship is presented by the Young family in memory of their daughter Christine, who was a student of this College when tragically killed by a drunk driver. The 2018 winner is Tori De Groot
