ANNUAL REPORT

Dear Members,

The Managing Committee of the Agra Branch of CIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of

India is pleased to present Annual Report of the activities of the branch together with audited accounts

for the year ended on 31st March 2017.

GENERAL

Agra Branch of CIRC has witnessed a golden period during the past year with the result that it was adjudged the

Best Branch in Medium Category in CIRC for the year 2016-17. The management and its team along with the

support of all the members at large have been able to have an eventful year witnessed by various activities

designed specially to cater to the needs of its members and students. To win the prestigious Best Branch award,

it was possible with the hard work of the managing committee and the commitment shown by the members of

Agra Branch who put their heart and soul in making all the events successful. The management is now more

duty bound to cross the landmarks laid down by it’s peers and to create new benchmarks keeping in view the

overall professional and personal development of members and the students and keep the flag of Agra Branch

continue to fly high. The Managing Committee will leave no stone unturned to serve the members and students.

Members’ Study Circle meetings, Students’ Study Circle meetings, Workshops and Certificate Courses are

decided to be organized on regular basis to update the knowledge in this fast changing scenario.

CPE SEMINARS

1. A Half Day Seminar had organized on Transactions in Capital Market & its Tax Implication by Agra

Branch on 16th July 2016 at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton, Fatehabad Road, Agra. The programme

was inaugurated by Shri K. N. Govind Acharya Ji. CA Gaurav R. Luthra, CA Manoj Khurana, CA Pankaj

Mishra & CA Manoj Agarwal were the speakers. Seminar was well attended and appreciated by the

members & 4 CPE hours were granted to the participating members.

2. A Full day Seminar on GST/Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code/Trust was organized on 22.12.2016 at Hotel

Howard Park Plaza, Fatehabad Road, Agra. The programme was inaugurated by CA Abhay Chhajad,

Chairman CIRC & CA Nitesh Gupta, Secretary CIRC. CA. Shashank S. Gupta, CA Nikhil Totuka & CA

Vijay Joshi. The Seminar was well attended and appreciated by the members & 6 CPE hours were granted

to the participating members.

3. A Half day seminar for Women members on Union Budget 2017 & Professional Opportunities for women

members was organized on 03.02.2017 at Hotel Lord’s Inn, Opposite Income Tax Office, Sanjay Place,

Agra. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Radha Rani Sharma, Asstt. Commissioner Income Tax,

Agra. CA Kemisha Soni, CCM & CA Sheetal Jain were the key speakers. The Seminar was well attended

and appreciated by the women members & 4 CPE hours were granted to the participating members.

4. A Full day Seminar on Union Budget 2017, GST & Cash deposit issues (demonetisation) was organized on

14.02.2017 at Hotel Howard Park Plaza, Fatehabad Road, Agra CA. Dr. Girish Ahuja, CA Sushil Kumar

Maheshwari & CA. Prem Gul were the key speakers. The Seminar was well attended and appreciated by the

members & 6 CPE hours were granted to the participating members.

5. A Half day Seminar on Benami Trans. Act 2016 with CIRC Annual Award Function was organized on 26th

February, 2017 at Hotel Double Tree By Hilton, Fatehabad Road, Agra. The programme was inaugurated

by CCMs & RCMs. CA Pankaj Agarwal from Lucknow was the key speaker. The Seminar was well attended

and appreciated by the members & 2 CPE hours were granted to the participating members.

6. A Full day Seminar on Bank Audit, IRAC Norms, LFAR & Tax Audit Report was organized on 18th

March, 2017 at Hotel Lord’s Inn, Opposite Income Tax Office, Sanjay Place, Agra. The programme was

inaugurated by Dr. Ramjas Yadav, GM Bank of Baroda. CA. Vikas Rajvanshi, CA. Bhagwan Das Gupta &

CA Pradeep Kumar Maheshwari were the speakers for the seminar & 6 CPE hours were granted to the

participating members.

7. A Full day Seminar on GST was organized on 27th

May, 2017 at Hotel Howard Park Plaza, Fatehabad Road,

Agra. The programme was inaugurated by CCM CA. Prakash Sharma & CA Nitesh Gupta, Chairman

CICASA CIRC. CA Rohini Agarwal from Delhi & Advocate Bharat Raichandani from Mumbai were the

Speakers for the seminar & 6 CPE hours were granted to the participating members.

8. A Full day Seminar on ICDS & Panel Discussion On Practical Issues in GST on 24th

June, 2017 at Hotel

Bhawna Clark’s Inn, Kailashpuri, Agra. The programme was inaugurated by CIRC Vice-Chairman CA

Churchil Jain & Chairman CIRC CICASA CA Nitesh Gupta. CA Sharad Singhal, CA Navneet Mangal,

Advocate Brijesh Chandra Verma & CA Baldev Raj were the Speakers for the seminar & 6 CPE hours were

granted to the participating members.

FELICITATION CEREMONY

Agra Branch had the privilege of felicitation of Shri Arjun Ram Meghawal Minister of State Finance &

Corporate Affairs Govt. of India on 23.07.2016 by CA. Nilesh Gupta.

Agra Branch had the privilege of felicitation of Shri Manohar Parrikar, Defence Minister on 06.10.2017 at

GIC Sports Ground, Pachkuiyan, Agra

TWO DAYS NATIONAL CONFERENCE

1. Two Days National Conference with Committee on CPE of ICAI on 20th – 21st November, 2016 at Hotel

Double Tree By Hilton, Fatehabad Road, Agra. The Programme was inaugurated by Honurable Vice-

President of ICAI CA Nilesh S. Vikamsay, Honourable Minister of State-Finance, Government of India

Shri Santosh Gangwar Ji, & CA Nitesh Gupta Secretary CIRC. More than 300 Members participated in

the program and it was a grand success & 12 CPE hours were granted to the participating members.

RESIDENTIAL REFERESHER COURSES:

Agra Branch hosted a Residential Refresher Course organized by CIRC at Hotel Clark’s Inn, Shimla from 08th

June 2017 to 11th

June, 2017 in which 08 members along with their families participated over a leisure learning

trip.

CERTIFICATION COURSES:

1. A certificate course on Concurrent Audits of Bank was conducted from 06th

August, 2016. The same was

attended by 53 members.

2. A certificate course on FAFD was conducted from 29th

January, 2017. The same was attended by 65

members.

CIRC BEST BRANCH AWARD:

Agra Branch of CIRC was awarded the CIRC Best Branch Award in Medium category for the year 2016-17.

NEWSETTER:

The Managing Committee of the Agra Branch heartily thanks the efforts of the Editorial Board of the

Newsletter of Agra Branch for their whole hearted efforts in releasing the e-newsletter of the branch in new

format.

Agra branch has arranged free consultancy on GST for general public in the form of GST HELP DESK from

24.05.2017. Members of Agra Branch reply the queries of public from this help desk from 05:00 PM to 07:00

PM every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

OTHER ACTIVITY

On 11.11.2016, Agra Branch has organized an Awareness Series for ICAI Commerce Wizard-2016: A

Talent Search Test for students at Hotel Orbit Inn, Bye Pass Road Agra. CA Mukesh Singh Kushwah, CCM

was the speaker.

On 15.12.2016, Agra Branch has organized a Discussion Forrum on Government Schemes for SME Sector

at Agra Branch, Sanjay Place, Agra. Dr. Ramjas Yadav, GM BOB & CA Nitesh Gupta, RCM were the

speakers.

STUDENTS TELENT HUNT

0n 28th May 2017, we had organized Student Telent Hunt Contest at Branch Premises, Sanjay Place, Agra

CA Manoj Khurana, CA Rajeev Goyal & Mr. Pradeep Tomar were the Judges for the Contest.

GENERAL MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION SKILLS COUSRE

1. GMCS 05th

batch was organized from 02nd

August to 17th

of August 2016 at ICAI Bhawan, IInd Floor,

Saket Mall, Bye Pass Road, Agra. The students sharpened their management and communication skills by

deliberations from galaxy of learned faculties.

2. GMCS 06th

batch was organized from 02nd

February to 18th

of February, 2017 at ICAI Bhawan, Sanjay

Place, Agra. The students sharpened their management and communication skills by deliberations from

galaxy of learned faculties.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

1. The 01st Batch of Orientation programme was started from 29

th September and ended on 10

2016. 29 students successfully completed the course.

ITT TRAINING

The branch is regularly running ITT, Advanced ITT training programs for its students successfully at ICAI

Bhawan, IInd Floor, Saket Mall, Bye Pass Road, Agra & Freedom Plaza, Sector-10, Avas Vikas Colony,

Sikandra, Agra.

STUDENTS ACTIVITIES

Agra Branch of CICASA organized a lot of activities for the betterment and interaction of CA Students of Agra

CICASA. Blood donation camp, sports activities, cultural programs, Full days Seminars, Study Circle,

Workshops, education Tour at Amtek Auto Limited, Gurugram & RRC at Om Shanti Retreat Centre, Manesar,

Gurugram were organized by Agra CICASA. This year a Youth Festival for CA students was also organized

between 25th June to 01st July 2017.

SWACCH BHARAT ABHIYAN

On 01st July, 2017 organized a program under Prime Minister dream project “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” at

sorronding area of ICAI Bhawan, Sanjay Place, Agra

INDEPENDENCE DAY

On 15th

August 2016 the Independence Day was celebrated at the Branch which was attended by large number

of members at the Branch premises.

REPUBLIC DAY

On 26th

January 2017 the Republic Day was celebrated at the Branch which was attended by members of the

Branch premises.

HOLI MILAN

The Holi Milan Programme was celebrated on 10th

March, 2017 at Maharaja Agarsen Sewa Sadan, Lohamandi,

Agra which was attended by the members along with their families in large number. The occasion was graced

by the auspicious presence of Honorable MLA CA Jagan Prasad Garg , RCM ICAI CA Abhay Chhajad, CA

Deep Kumar Mishra, CA Mukesh Bansal & CA. Nitesh Gupta. The cultural activities by students and families

of members added the brightest of colors to the event. Continuing the tradition of last year’s senior members of

the branch were felicitated on the occasion.

CRICKET MATCHES

Agra Branch organized/Participated in three cricket matches during the last year.

1. Branch cricket team participated in CIRC T-20 Cricket Tournament at Jaipur on 17.11.2016.

2. Night Cricket Tournament among the members on 26 & 27th

June 2017 at RBS Inter College Ground,

Khandari, Agra.

LIBRARY

The Branch has a library with the necessary infrastructure for the benefit of the members and

students. The library is regularly updated keeping in view the learning needs of members and students. The

Managing Committee requests the members to kindly send their recommendations of book which are of

immense use to the members so that the Branch will be able to procure them as early as possible.

CSR ACTIVITIES

Agra Branch and its members have regularly strived hard to play a key role as conscious citizens of society.

During the past year Agra Branch conducted many activities as CSR initiatives including Blood Donation

camp for members and students, Students welfare fund, Sevaa- Distribution of daily needs and financial

support to needy.

Agra Branch in association with Shri Nath Ji Jal Sewa has started a Jal Sewa Point (pyau) at Near LIC

Building, Sanjay Place, Agra for safe & cold water for Public.

Agra branch has contributed to already set up fund by earmarking ten percent of total membership collection

towards contingency fund for members.

Agra branch has organized a charity event at Ek Pahel School, Dayal Bagh, Near Khelgaon, Agra ON

07.01.2017 in which Foods, Cloths, Stationery materials etc. were donated by members of Agra Branch.

Agra branch has organized a Voter Awareness Program on 08.02.2017 at Shaheed Smarak, Sanjay Place,

Agra.

Agra branch has organized a charity event on 15.05.2017 at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Vijay Nagar,

Colony, Agra in which 5 ceiling fans were donated to school for students.

Agra branch has organized a charity event on 30.06.2017 at Vivekanand Saraswati Vidhya Mandir, Agra

Cantt. Agra in which a sound system was donated to school.

YOGA CAMP:

On 21st June, 2017 on the occasion of IIIrd International Yoga Day, Agra Branch had organized a Yoga camp

for their members, families and students at Shaheed Smarak, Sanjay Place Agra under the guidance of Yoga

Guru Bharat Yogi Hanumant Bharadwaj from Mokshyatan Yog Sansthan, Saharanpur. He also took the session

on “Importance of Hygiene & Cleaning in Our Daily Life”. This camp was attended by more than 60

participants

CA WEEK 2017:

Following activities were organized by Agra Branch during CA Celebration week 2017:-

On 25th

June, we had Blood Donation Camp branch was organized at Samarpan Blood Bank & Lokhitam

Blood Bank. The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA Shri Mukesh Goyal, Kheragad

& Dr. Rajysri Bannerji, Additional Director Programme Akashwani Agra. Here almost 125 units of blood

were collected. This contribution reiterates the fact that Agra Branch is committed towards social cause and

shares the responsibility towards society.

On 26 to 27th

June we had organized a Night Cricket Tournament for Members at RBS Inter College

Ground, Khandari, Agra. The Cricket Tournament was well appreciated by all the members.

On 27th

June we had also organized a Badminton Tournament for members at Radhey Club, City Convent

School, Balkeshwar Agra.

On 28th

June we had organized a Chess, Carom & Sudoku Competition for members at Sanjay Place

Branch. Members at Agra participated in the competitions with great zeal and enthusiasm.

On 28th

June we had also organized a Football Match for members at Khelgaon, Dayal Bagh, Agra.

On 29th

June a Health checkup camp was organized by Agra branch, where more than 100 members and

their family members got their health checked by renowned doctors of the Agra City. The Health checkup

camp was inaugurated by Dr. Shiyaram Sharma, Joint Director Medical Health, UP Health Services.

On 30th

June we had a CSR Activity at Vivekanand Saraswati Sishu Mandir, Agra Cantt, Agra followed by

Distribution one Sound System to school for school & Student use.

On 30th

July i.e. on the occasion of CA Day evening we had a Mega Cultural Evening for Memers & their

family at Maharaja Agrasen Sewa Sadan, 1st Floor, Lohamandi Agra. The Programme was inaugurated by

Mr. R. C. Sankhala, Commissioner, Central Excise & Service Tax, Agra. The program was graced by

various dignitaries from the city and Member & their family.

On 1st July we organized a Swachchhta Abhiyan for spreading a message to public “Importance of Clean &

Hygienic Environment in Our Daily Life” Near surrounding area of ICAI Bhawan, Branch Premises,

Sanjay Place, Agra.

On 1st July i.e. on the occasion of CA Day we had a Flag Hoisting at Branch in the morning.

On 1st July we had organized a Movie Show for Members & their family for motivate & boosting their self.

On 1st July Evening Agra Branch organized Webcast Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri

Narendra Modi Ji addressing the Profession on CA Day of the ICAI.

CA HEALTH CHECK UP PRIVILEGE CARD

On 29th

June, 2017, Agra Branch has provided a Health Privilege card to members through which they can avail

discounts on medical health Checkup at Scientific Pathology, Hari Parvat, Agra

REMEMBERANCES

Agra Branch deeply mourns the death of our senior member Shri CA. P. N. Garg & Shri CA S. C. Mehta.
