ISEE Africa Chapter is seeking experienced Mentors and Partners that are
interested in promoting environmental epidemiology research in Africa. Please let

ISEE Africa Chapter 2020 Achievement (1/2)
1. Had many firsts for the chapter and exponential growth
in active ISEE membership from 10 in August 2019 to
about 100 as at July 2020
2. Held 1st chapter event on African soil. The CAPE and
chapter sponsored short course on environmental
epidemiology and exposure assessment in collaboration
with the University of Ibadan, Nigeria attracted over 500
applications from 15 African countries and 59
participants from Nigeria, Uganda and Guinea.
3. Held side meeting at the Planetary Health Conference in
The Gambia, with 43 participants and panel discussion
on how to promote regional research collaboration and
capacity development
4. Updated database of environmental health and allied
institutions in Africa. Sent letters to introduce the chapter
and seek for new members to 242 institutions in 11
countries (Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya,
Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Gambia,
Sudan, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea)
5. Facilitated reduction of annual ISEE membership fees
for LMIC to US$30.
