LAST CHANCE FOR CHURCH DIRECTORY PHOTOS!
Our church family has grown by leaps and bounds since the last pic-
torial directory in 2014. It sometimes seems difficult to learn all the
names that go with the new faces! And just imagine how hard it
must be for the newcomers to learn all the “old faces”!!
Help improve the odds by having your family’s photo taken.
The last two scheduled dates are:
Sunday, June 2, and Sunday, June 9,
from 8:00 a.m.—11:30 a.m.,
in the Christian Life Center
WEDNESDAYS AT MADISON
Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals
and Programming
have ended for the summer.
We will resume in August!!
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!
Mae and Doug Garrett became part of the
MUMC church family on May 5.
Greer Dickerson (second from left), son of Emily
Dickerson and Hunter Dickerson and little brother of
Phelps, was baptized at the 10:45 service on May 12.
Dear Madison Methodist Church Family,
With a very grateful heart, we would like to thank all of you for the love and care that you have shown to our
parents, Richard and Nellie Paul Farr over the last several years. The countless visits, cards, phone calls, words of
encouragement, and so many delicious meals that were delivered with love for them to enjoy have been such a bless-
ing to them and to us.
It was difficult in these last years when they were unable to attend church. My mother loved you all very deeply
and so enjoyed her years with the VIP’S! It gave her much joy as she planned from month to month to have interest-
ing speakers for you to enjoy.
Please pray for our Daddy, Richard Farr, as we move him to the Veterans Memorial Nursing Home this week.
We hope that this will be good for him to be around other veterans. He still enjoys a visit, so if you are in the area,
please go see him.
Again, thank you all for loving our parents so well.
Very Grateful,
Jan Duran and Paula Jackson

WOMEN’S SUMMER BOOK/BIBLE STUDY TO BEGIN IN JUNE
A Women’s Summer Book/Bible study will begin the first Sunday of June and continue
through July. We will meet from 5:00 p.m.—6:30 p.m. in the Administrative Conference
Room and discuss C.S. Lewis’s book Reflections on the Psalms. Everyone who would like
to attend will need to purchase the book before the study begins. Donna Peyton will be
leading. All ladies are welcome!
UNITED METHODIST MEN
Men of the Church: Please join the United Methodist Men's Club for our annu-
al Frank Wilson College Scholarship award day on Sunday morning, May 19.
Our speaker will be our own Ronnie McGehee, retired Madison County Educa-
tion Superintendent, and we expect to award scholarships to deserving young
high school senior men of the church. We start with breakfast in the CLC at 7
a.m. with the program to follow. Please bring a friend and we will see you
then!
My thanks again to all of our church staff and volunteers who so willingly gave your time to make our recent Rise
Against Hunger meal packing event a fantastic success! Even though we had a few "bumps" at the beginning of the
event, you were all so patient and understanding. We easily achieved our goal of packing 20,000 meals. I have spo-
ken with Rise Against Hunger, and they may be sending our meals to El Salvador (Convoy of Hope) in May unless
that shipment is already full. If that is the case, our meals will probably be shipped in the fall. Those of you that
listed your email address on the registration form will receive a notification when and where they are shipped. For
those of you who did not, I will send a church wide notification when I receive this information. I am so blessed to
be a part of this caring, and faithful congregation.
In His Love,
Kathy Long
Thank You from Rise Against Hunger

The Dominican Republic Student
Mission Team would like to say
thank you to all those who have
supported our trip!
You have given generously at each
of our fundraisers and because of
that we are able to make the trip
more affordable and have more
money for on-ground ministry
opportunities.
Thank You!
Your giving to the pork tenderloin sales,
the Envelope Donation Wall, the
Wednesday Night Supper Fundraiser,
and the Methodismals Concert has
helped to raise over half the trip cost for
each of our 25 trip participants.
That’s around $20,000!!!!
Thank you again for supporting
us!
We ask that you continue to sup-
port us with your prayers as we
serve in the Dominican Republic
June 7-14, 2019.
