Headquarters recognized PKK as a Military Chapter.
Preamble
We, the Members of Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., believing that men of similar ideals
of fellowship should bind themselves together in order to form a more perfect union among college trained men, to
promote the principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift; to enhance brotherly love and embellish the
wholesome fraternal spirit within the Chapter; to protect the sanctity of the home and the chastity of women, do hereby
establish this Chapter Constitution and accompanying By-Laws for the governance of its members.

Brothers, Family and Friends, I greet you in the name of the Supreme Basileus of the Universe, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you on behalf of the Phi Kappa Kappa (PKK) Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated for your support through the years. PKK Chapter promotes Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift in our efforts to positively impact the lives of youth and disadvantaged families of the Metro Atlanta area. The brothers of PKK are committed to upholding the principles, standards, and traditions of Omega as we execute Omega’s National Mandated Programs which include: Assault on Illiteracy; College Endowment; NAACP; Memorial Service; Scholarship; Social Action; Talent Hunt; Reclamation; Retention; Voter Registration; Education; Mobilization; and Health Initiatives. Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter has received several awards since its chartering. The Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter aims to make a difference in our communities through our commitment to youth mentorship, awarding scholarships, providing awareness and support for health issues, and providing social guidance in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Scholarship remains the key pillar of the chapter while fundraising serves as the cornerstone for scholarships and mentoring initiatives. Throughout the chapter’s rich history, we have awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors and provided venues to assist them in making the transition to post secondary education. As you review this year’s activities, you will see that Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter has taken on a wholistic approach in recognizing youths’ abilities and supporting them and the surrounding community through athletic, STEAM, and socially involved programs.

Basileus Welcome
Greetings Brothers, It is an honor to present the Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Social Action book for the year 2019-2020. This Omega year brought on unforeseen challenges during this pandemic, but Phi Kappa Kappa continued to persevere and was able to impact the East Point and College Park service areas. We believe in uplifting our community through relentless service and community projects. Chapters are expected to formulate and execute meaningful Social Action projects, programs, and activities that impact the service area, and the brothers of Phi Kappa Kappa did not disappoint. I hope serving as the Social Action Chair has been fullling to see Omega men ‘uplift’ the community and ‘persevere’ despite the challenges we have faced. I am continually reminded that our greatest strength is our bond with each other and serving our community. As you scroll through our Chapter Booklet, I hope you can see our desire to serve and impact in making a difference. I have outlined social action and community service projects the men of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter have addressed which includes food distribution to those in need, fatherhood and mentoring programs, health initiatives, VA outreach, football recruiting summit, and social injustices, to name a few. These projects impact our youth, elderly, disabled, and a cross-section of race and culture. These projects have a geographic sphere that encompasses the international, national, and local communities we serve. We remain ever dedicated to the Fraternity’s international program of service, responsible citizenry, and community uplift.
At Phi Kappa Kappa - we are a serving chapter, focused on uplifting our community through our various Social Action programs. If we can impact and make someone’s life a little better, our efforts are not in vain. We want to be a light that shines brightly in the East Point and College Park, GA service areas. Fraternally,

Achievement Week
National Achievement Week is a mandated program of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., that was originally designed to promote the study of African American life and history. It's beginnings date back to the 1920 Grand Conclave in Nashville. It was at this Conclave that Bro. Carter G. Woodson inspired the overall idea. In 1927, at his urging, the Fraternity made National Negro Achievement Week an annual observance. In 1976, this commemoration evolved into Black History Month. Presently, the Achievement Week Program is used to recognize those individuals at the local and national levels who have made signicant contributions toward improving the quality of life for African Americans.
Objectives of the Observance• To focus attention on outstanding achievement, not only by giving appropriate recognition to those who have achieved, but also by stimulating others to gain even higher eminence. • To implement our democratic way of life by emphasizing that all people must be judged by their accomplishments and their service to mankind, regardless of nationality, religion, or race. • To raise the prestige of Omega by providing a worthwhile project to which our chapter may direct its energies; this united effort should stimulate and enrich the communities where Omega Psi Phi Chapters are located.
The Brothers of Phi Kappa Kappa celebrated and participated in Achievement Week activities from November 8th – 17th. There was lots of fellowship and brotherhood on display as the brothers of PKK celebrated another Founders Day Week and another year of fraternal work within our community.

SECOND MOUNT VERNON BAPTIST
.The Brothers of Phi Kappa Kappa were invited to spend the day with the congregation of Second Mount Vernon Baptist Church to observe and participate in their Sixth Pastoral Anniversary of Brother Oshebar Hardman. Over the years, we have established a blessed relationship with the church as we have partnered with the congregation for Quarterly Prayer Breakfasts. The original location for Second Mount Vernon was damaged by re one week prior to the Pastoral Anniversary; therefore, the events were held at Ivy Preparatory Academy for Girls. The spirit of rebirth and rededication lled the congregation as they are eager and determined to rebuild their church home. Pastor Hardman’s message, “God’s Got You Covered,” was masterfully delivered from Psalm 46:10. After the day’s service, we fellowhipped over dinner with each other and members of the Second Mount Vernon congregation. It was a blessed start to our Achievement Week Activities with an $800 dollar donation towards their charitable work in the community.

We wish to thank each of the seventeen brothers who volunteered their time and services to represent the chapter as delegates at this year’s 82nd Grand Conclave. Cultivating positive male youth citizens today and future fathers reined as goal of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., (Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter) and Project Friendship, Inc., youth leadership conference held on Saturday December 7, 2019, at the Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Cornelius Henderson Student Center. Students, parents, and family advocate professionals throughout Georgia gathered to dialogue on empowering families with life skill tools to increase and sustain positive growth in the lives of the youth. Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired Ralph Carson, Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter set the stage for the program wrapping his arms around one of the students in front of the audience telling the young man we are here for you. This gesture of condence was followed by Charles Gibbs, Chief of Staff to the CAU President, who opened the conference inspiring students to excel academically and to exceed expectations of others. Judge Linda Bratton Haynes, DeKalb County Juvenile Court continued the emotional plea telling families how important it is to use available family advocacy and law enforcement resources to combat deciencies that plague youth development and lead to young people getting involved negatively in the criminal justice system.
The one-on-one and group dynamics of the youth and parent sessions allowed conversations and produced solutions in a user-friendly environment for the participants. The Atlanta area National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) representatives Ralif Ahmad and Brian Salter, held youth and parent community law enforcement dialogues. Judge Haynes, Attorney Michael Sheridan, Todd Mosely, Georgia Child Support Division, Donnell Nash, Fulton County Juvenile Court and Rodney Knight, Mental Health Counselor led the mothers in a “Both Parents Matter Session.” The subject matter experts engaged the mothers in conversations that answered questions how best to navigate through family crisis that affect non-resident and single parents.
Tiffany Kirk, Regions Bank, Community Development Manager, Vice President South Carolina and Georgia held hands-on nancial education exercises and dialogue which enlighten students and parents of nancial services offered by Regions that will advance families’ nancial portfolios.

Conley Hills Mentoring Program SOCIAL ACTION - BIG BROTHERS - BIG SISTERS
NOVEMBER 2019 -
MAY 2020
During these unprecedented times of uncertainty, we the brothers of Phi Kappa Kappa would like to extend our prayers and thoughts to all during this pandemic. We have suspended our mentoring program for 3rd thru 5th grade males at Conley Hills Elementary School during this crisis. For the last several years Phi Kappa Kappa under the leadership of Brother Ralph Carson Committee Chair, has worked hand in hand with the faculty and administrators establishing and enhancing programs for Academics and Life Skills for these underserved males. Some of the areas of focus has been raising lexile scores, etiquette classes, and preparation for Georgia Milestones. Throughout the school year, Phi Kappa Kappa planned and executed several events in conjunction with Project Friendship(501(c)(3).
The events were a huge success, and the chapter’s participation is overwhelming in support of this Mandated Program. We have several brothers whose dedication and enthusiasm are instrumental in the program’s success. Brother S Earl Wilson who happens to be the Co-chair of the IHQ Fatherhood and Mentoring Initiative and one of the mentors, brings food from the food bank twice a month for the kids. Prior to the pandemic, the kids participated in Black History Month by dressing for success and researching and reporting on famous people of color, past and present. Past events have consisted of a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, and this year we had planned to go the College Football Hall of Fame. Last school year, we did an end of school Barbeque and invited the parents which was a huge success and condence builder with the parents who got to meet and talk with the men who were interacting with their kids. The most memorable event of this school year was the Christmas gifts for the kids. Phi Kappa Kappa adopted and sponsored 25 kids with donations of 25 ipads, clothes, shoes, jackets, sports equipment and food drive that fed over 40 families. Special shout out to Brother Arnold Pleasant for spearheading the food drive. This program is a success for the chapter and the community.

Project Friendship (501c3) in conjunction with the men of Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. hosted our annual football recruiting summit that now has been renamed The Brandon Adams Football Recruiting Summit on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia. We renamed this event in honor of Georgia Tech star football player Brandon Adams (Delta Kappa Chapter), who passed away in 2019.
This free event has connected high school senior football players to scholarship opportunities from colleges and universities seeking to recruit football players to their institutions. We provided breakfast and lunch for the athletes and parents at no cost. We had 109 high school seniors register attend this event this year. We had 44 students-athletes offered scholarships from the above colleges or university with 8 football players having accepted offers at this time.
The following colleges and universities were in attend this year: Benedict College, Bowie State University, Clark Atlanta University, Lincoln University, Virginia State University, Miles College, Point University, Erskine College, Shaw University, Morehouse College, Arkansas Baptist College, Reinhardt College, and Wheeling University.
We had a representative of Brandon Adams’ family in attendance for this amazing event. Also, Brandon’s chapter brothers (Delta Kappa) were in attendance as well. Ryan Stewart (Delta Kappa Chapter) was the keynote speaker for program section. We awarded the inaugural Brandon Adams Leadership Award given to Tyson Meiguez, from Creekside High School (who signed with Georgia Tech) and The Project Friendship Student-Athlete Leadership Award was given to Khatavian Franks from Creekside High School (who signed with Georgia Tech). Although Georgia is one of the more talent rich high school football states, more than 1,500 football playing seniors are left without collegiate scholarship offers annually due to the lack of exposure and/or resources.

Atlanta Law Enforcement Appreciation Drive-Thru LunchSOCIAL ACTION
AUGUST 15, 2020
“Brothers You Are on My Mind” was expressed in deeds as Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter,
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., held an Omega Law Enforcement Atlanta Metro Drive-
Thru Appreciation Lunch. On Saturday, August 15, 2020, the Men of Omega showed
respect and gratitude as they prepared and handed out free lunches in the parking lot of
the Ivy Center, in Southwest Atlanta. Law enforcement ofcers from Cobb County,
DeKalb County, Douglasville County, Fulton County, MARTA, Homeland Security, and
the City of Atlanta received meals. The fraternity’s Fatherhood Initiative and Mentoring
Chairman, S. Earl Wilson led the initiative to recognize the contributions and sacrices
law enforcement ofcers; many who are Omegas, make in protecting the metropolitan
area.
The enormous pressures and safety hazards police face daily in the mind of the
Chairmen deserved more than just words of thank you. Also, the recognition amplies
citizens’ gratitude in spite of the controversies pledging Atlanta Police as the result of
the Black Lives Matter protest ravaging the city. The event allowed ofcers a minute to
detox from the tensions. Also, the lunch gave ofcers an opportunity to dialogue with
the brothers in an effort to gain a better understanding of the challenges ofcers face.
Even during rain showers, ofcers drove up to receive sh hot out the grease, bar-b-que
chicken, and other entrees. COVID-19 PDP guidelines were adhered to during the
event. Acting Atlanta Chief of Police Rodney Bryant, an Omega Man, came out and
extended his gratitude to the fraternity for their act of kindness. Ofcer Brian Salters,
Dekalb County Police indicated that the lunch allowed the ofcers to personally
experience the Omega expression, 'Friendship is Essential to the Soul' as fraternity
members gave their time to show they appreciate the ofcers. Meals were also taken to
Atlanta Police Department, Zone 3 Precinct to accommodate ofcers.

The memory of Brandon Adams will be honored Saturday at an event that seeks to help high-school football players nd
playing and scholarship opportunities, a cause that the late Georgia Tech defensive tackle himself had championed.
High-school seniors seeking to continue their playing careers can meet with coaches representing Division II, Division III,
NAIA, junior college and prep schools Saturday at the Brandon Adams Football Recruiting Summit at the College Football Hall
of Fame. Last year, the event drew almost 150 high schoolers and produced more than 20 college admissions and scholarships,
according to Omega Psi Phi fraternity, which Adams was a member of and is putting on the conference.
Adams, who died in March, was involved with the event, which began in 2007. He, along with Yellow Jackets teammate, friend
and fraternity brother Chris Martin, was a volunteer, serving as a speaker and mentor.
“Since giving back to the community was a core strength of Brandon’s, we are honored to keep his name alive through the
Brandon Adams Football Recruiting Summit,” Martin said in a statement.
“He was a leader on and off the eld, and one who was destined for greatness,” Calleb Obumba, chairman of the event, wrote of
Adams in an email.
Coaches from 12 colleges, including head coaches from HBCU schools Shaw University, Lincoln University and Bowie State,
are scheduled to attend. More were expected, but weather concerns prevented some Northeast schools from participating,
according to Obumba.
The event is free, although attendees will have to pay for admission into the museum. Students are asked to bring several
copies of their transcripts, SAT/ACT scores and access to their electronic highlight reel. More information is available at
projectfriendship.org.
There are additional Tech ties. Two Yellow Jackets signees, Creekside High linebackers Tyson Meiguez and Khatavian Franks,
will receive the Brandon Adams Leadership Award and the Project Friendship Student-Athlete Award, respectively. Also,
former Tech football player Ryan Stewart will be the keynote speaker.48

ATLANTA, Ga. (CW69 News at 10) – Police ofcers sacrice their lives every day to protect and serve, and along the way, many make extra sacrices to help those in need.
It’s what the Atlanta Police Department said Zone 3 Investigator Keith Backmon did on Thursday, May 6, to help some children at the Villas at Lakewood and Capital Vanira Apartments stay “digitally connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
In a Facebook post, APD shared how Backmon decided to spend his hazard pay bonus on four families when he donated Amazon Fire tablets to ve kids to help them complete their schoolwork.
“As a public servant, it’s my job to give back to the community,” said Backmon, who has been with APD for 16 years.
The Facebook post also sheds light on what inspired his donation.
Investigator Backmon’s relationships with crime victims go beyond just trying to solve a case. After investigating a shooting at the Capital Vanira Apartments, Investigator Backmon stayed in touch with the families of two 11-year-old girls who were almost shot when a man decided to randomly shoot at their apartment building, striking both the upper and lower level. When he learned about their lack of access to technology to complete homework, he stepped in.
The post also reads Backmon donated $30 to set up an Internet connection. He was joined by other ofcers and investigators for the special delivery. APD said Backmon also serves as a part time security ofcer at the Villas at Lakewood Apartments.

The Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
and Project Friendship participated in hosting its 21-year
Reclamation and Retention Weekend Celebration. This year’s
Reclamation theme focused on preserving the everlasting
bond between brothers old and new. The Reclamation theme
also highlighted the memories that the men of the Phi Kappa
Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. have shared
in its 21-year existence. This task was highlighted by honoring
the memory of the late Nathaniel Hickman, Phi Gamma
Chapter, 1975 University of North Texas. As a charter member
of PKK, Nate “Q75” Hickman dedicated his remaining twenty-
one years on this earth to provide service to his
community. Using PKK as a vehicle, Nathaniel Hickman was
able to use his years of wisdom and service to mentor younger
brothers in the chapter and to also build bridges between the
old and new members of PKK. The current members of PKK
chose to honor Nate’s 21 years of service to the chapter by
hosting a Reclamation Happy Hour. This Happy Hour gave
brothers who were members of PKK in the past and present a
chance to toast and fellowship to the legacy and memories
Nate left behind. The Happy Hour also gave PKK a chance to
reclaim some of those brothers in search of a chapter to call
home again.

The Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity
Inc. and Project Friendship participated in hosting its 21-
year Reclamation and Retention Weekend Celebration. This
year’s Retention theme focused on displaying the high level
of comradery within the chapter by exemplifying the spirit
of “good” friendship among members. This task was
accomplished by allowing each decade of members in the
chapter to host their own sections during the 21-year
Chapter Anniversary Day Party. Starting from the 1970’s
and ending in the 2000, each decade was tasked with using
their sections as avenues for brothers to become better
acquainted with each other in the chapter and to also build
bridges between all decades. Younger and older brothers
within the chapter got a chance to share stories, learn
history of the fraternity, and personally interact with each
other in a friendly setting.

On Friday, January 10, 2020, Brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter and
the Red Cross conducted a blood drive at Tri Cities High School in East Point. This is a mandated
initiative of our Fraternity, and it was our rst initiative of the year. The number one reason donors say
they give blood is because they “want to help others.” Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can
give to another person, the gift of life. A decision to donate your blood can save a life, or even several if
your blood is separated into its components like red cells, platelets, and plasma.
We had fty students, faculty, and volunteers donate blood. Our goal was twenty pints, and we
collected thirty-ve pints of blood on Friday. One PKK Brother of two Omegas participated in the
drive. We had a good time serving others and enjoyed uplifting the students and volunteers while they
waited and recovered after donating blood. I would like to say thanks to Soror Erica Winston and Tri
Cities High School for their hospitality and well run operations team for the blood drive. I would like to
also thank the Red Cross for their service and hospitality. Thanks to all the Brothers and volunteers
that came out and help made this event a success.

Virtual Blood DriveThe Brothers of Phi Kappa Kappa held a Virtual Blood Drive from July 1, 2020 through August 31, 2020. We were challenged with trying to host a blood drive during COVID19. We thought of a different approach where family and friends could go to our donation portal and make a pledge. After making the pledge, the donor would receive an email from Red Cross with blood drives that were in the vicinity. We had six pledges for much needed blood.
