Annual Activity Report 2011-2012 Introduction nnocent world charitable society is a non-government, apolitical, non-profit making and philanthropic organization registered under Indian society’s registration Act (XXI) of 1860 in Delhi. It is the vision of the parent of a differently abled child, which fructified in the establishment of this centre for such children in the year 2004. The objective of the organization is to work for the betterment and upliftment of the differently abled children/adult particularly belonging to the poor and economically weaker section of the society. The centre is presently being run at A-32 Sewak Park, Gali No.10 Post Office Uttam Nagar, New Delhi-110059, India. OUR MISSION As adults their mental, Physical, social and emotional needs to be respected and accepted by the parents, family and society at large. The ultimate goal of special education shall be the integration or mainstreaming of learners with special needs into the regular school system and eventually in the community. Special education shall aim to develop the maximum potential of the child with special needs to enable him to become self-reliant and shall be geared towards providing him with the opportunities for a full and happy life. To fulfill this mission, our Endeavour will be to make all out efforts tirelessly towards educating the community, to provide these special children/adults with social and vocational skills for their independent living and also to make them an integral part of the society.   • Vocational Training Workshop (Tie & Dye)

    A workshop organised by CCRT on Tie & Die between 6/7/2011 – 8/07/2011 to

    develop vocational skill for these special children of Masoom Duniya. Our children

    tried their hand in dyeing the cloth in various designs. 20 children participated during

    this camp & enjoyed learning.

    Visit to Fun & Food Village (12/08/2011)

    About 35 children visited Fun n Food village along with 10 attendants. This event

    added another memorable day where they enjoyed in water park along with exciting

    rides. They enjoyed the memorable day with adventurous rides, dance & mouth

    watering delicacies.

    Annual Day Celebration in NSIT Auditorium ( 3/09/2011)

    Like every year, Masoom Duniya celebrated the annual day amongst colourful

    cultural programmes. The children of Masoom Duniya demonstrated their skills with

    heart winning performances. The representatives of Next generation ‘ NSIT students’

    along with ‘IBM employees’ volunteers during this program. They extended their

    assistance since start of preparing these children till cheering during their

    performances. Everybody including managing committee of IWCS, Parents , Staff

    and members of community were overwhelmed by the performances of our children.

  • Winter Residential camp

    Masoom Duniya organizes winter camp every year to exercise independent living to

    boost the confidence of children & parents so that these children can lead a self

    sufficient life.

    This year, Winter camp started on 23rd 2011, and was inaugurated by regional

    chairman of lions club. They distributed blankets to all the participants. There were

    nearly 60 children who attended this 3 day residential camp.

    The next in store was the drawing competition. HCWA sponsored all the material

    including drawing sheets & colours for this activity

    After drawing competition children were engaged in outdoor sport activities like

    football & cricket.

  • Day 2 of this camp came with a theme ‘ Save Environment’ where people witnessed a

    regime initiated by the children of Masoom Duniya soon turning out to be a

    revolution.

    This awareness program was to revive a dead jheel surrounded by the community.

    Around four hundred students from different schools ( MCL –SBM, Adarsh Model

    School, Saksham special school) along with our children cleaned the garbage lying in

    and around the jheel. The community people from the vicinity also joined this regime

    while appreciating this initiative. Local MLA Mr. H.S Balli assured to do something

    for the revival of this jheel in coming future. Market association of jail road & Lions

    club distributed fruits & cold drinks to the children who participated in this initiative.

    After the meaningful conclusion of the first half of the day - towards the welfare of

    the community – Post lunch activities included preparation for cultural event.

    Once again , Our children won hearts of the audiences by their exciting performances.

    The key message of the act was “the community must respect their existence”.

    The event took place in ‘Suhag Banquet’ in the presence of RWA members of Anand

    Vihar locality.

    Keeping in mind the strong message towards health awareness, the day started with

    Yoga & light exercise.

  • As scheduled, the last day was left for sports. This is an important part of our activity

    camp to make our children realize of the never dying spirit & Can Do attitude

    despite of their limited physical ability.

    Around 25 children of Masoom duniya were provided an opportunity to explore &

    enjoy –Courtesy Mr. Arvind Kapoor-DGM City square mall. Our children explored &

    enjoyed different rides & games. Mr. Arvind Kapoor & City square management

    arranged for snacks for their special guests.

    To imbibe cultural values & develop awareness about our heritages, Masoom Duniya

    organized a well planned trip to Akshar Dham temple in Delhi. Our children enjoyed

    the fun filled learning trip about our civilization

    Like every year , under our program „ Know our country ‘ , This year a group of 24

    children from masoom duniya visited Haridwar & Rishikesh. During this four day trip

    they visited various places of religious importance in and around Rishikesh &

    Haridwar, like Lakshman Jhoola, Chandi devi and many such holy places along with

    enjoying boating in river ganges.

    They also visited ‘Vandematram Orphanage’ in Haridwar to share experiences &

    made new friends. They all had a memorable time & performed joint performances to

    celebrate a journey called life.

    We stayed in Shivanand Ashram under the blessing of babaji who enlightened our

    children with the ray of motivation & happiness. We will always remain always

    thankful for each & every staff member of Shivanand Ashram for their hospitality

    during our visit.

    Like every year - Masoom Duniya Acknowledges to those persons or

    organisation ,who have served to the society in the field of disability. This year

    Masoom Duniya acknowledged Mrs Ritika (President Handicapped Children and

    Women's Aid) for their excellent contribution towards humanity. Handicapped

    children and Women's Aid is registered voluntary and charitable organization for

    handicapped children and underprivileged women.We also applauded for their

    outstanding work in the field of education and disability. Dr. M.S Rawat Principal of

    Delhi College of Commerce (University of Delhi) awarded her with shawl and shield

    on behalf of Masoom Duniya during Annual day function.
