MLC’S WOMEN IN MISSION group has decided to put "Homeless Bags" together for our June mission project. So many people in need are standing on street corners in our area. While items we’ll gather may not be an exact match to their needs, it would at least let them know we care and that God cares for them. We ask for donations of the following: bottled water travel/hotel sized soap/body wash/shampoo toothbrushes/toothpaste socks (assorted men’s/women’s) snack bars/crackers (no nuts/peanut butter due to possible allergic reactions) To reinforce God’s love and care, we will include devotions or unused Portals of Prayer in the bags. There will be a receptacle set up in the Welcome Center for your donations. We know that the congregation is called upon often to support various missions and projects, but we also know that, as a congregation, we are truly blessed with so very many generous and giving hearts! All donations will be greatly appreciated and will certainly touch the lives of many less fortunate than ourselves. If you would rather give a monetary donation for items to be purchased, please see Sue Harrison or Donna Gruetzmacher. Prayers for our group are always appreciated, too, as we strive to serve both the members of our church family and those in our community who need so desperately to be reached! Thanks and blessings to all of you! VOTER’S MEETING Plan to stay after church next week for the meeting. Boy Scouts are selling BBQ chickens and BBQ lunch plates to enjoy. See Ricky Nietsche to purchase yours. WELCOME TO MEMORIAL! The next new member class will be held Monday, May 4 th from 6:00pm to 8:15pm with a light dinner and childcare offered. If you are new to Memorial, or if you have missed this class in the past, please email or call Vicar Mike today to reserve your spot! ([email protected]). Know anyone interested in learning English or polishing up their skills? Pastor Dimas will lead a new class here at Memorial beginning Tuesday, May 5 th which will meet in the Loomis Center from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. It is anticipated this will run three-four months. • MLCS WOMEN IN MISSION group has

    decided to put

    "Homeless Bags"

together for our June mission project. So many people

in need are standing on street corners in our area. While

items well gather may not be an exact match to their needs, it would at least let them know we care and that

God cares for them. We ask for donations of the

    following:

    bottled water

    travel/hotel sized soap/body wash/shampoo

    toothbrushes/toothpaste

    socks (assorted mens/womens)

To reinforce Gods love and care, we will include devotions or unused Portals of Prayer in the bags. There

will be a receptacle set up in the Welcome Center for

    your donations.

We know that the congregation is called upon often to

support various missions and projects, but we also know

that, as a congregation, we are truly blessed with so very

many generous and giving hearts! All donations will be

greatly appreciated and will certainly touch the lives of

many less fortunate than ourselves. If you would rather

give a monetary donation for items to be purchased, please

see Sue Harrison or Donna Gruetzmacher.

Prayers for our group are always appreciated, too, as we

strive to serve both the members of our church family and

those in our community who need so desperately to be

reached! Thanks and blessings to all of you!

    VOTERS MEETING

    Plan to stay after church

    next week for the meeting.

  • EYEGLASS CASE

    PROJECT

    Many thanks to the marvelous

    volunteers who are sewing

    glasses cases for our mission

trip to Kenya in May! I need to

remind you that we are packing up our totes at the end of

April. Since the eyeglass cases are flexible and pack

easily, there is a bit more leeway time wise. Would you

please bring what you have sewn to the office by May

15th? Thanks again, you crafty people. Pastor Dale

    NEWS FROM

    VICAR MIKE

    MEMORIAL NEEDS

    YOU!! We are looking for

    4 volunteers who would be

    willing to assist with

    childcare in the nursery on

    Thursday evenings from

6:30pm to 8:00pm. I am excited to inform you that

MLC will be starting a Young(er) Couples group

beginning the first week of May. One of the goals of

this group is to support young marriages, provide a

fellowship community for new families, and equip

families with a discipleship worldview. However, many

of those young couples have children and babysitters are

quite expensive, so Memorial would like to provide

childcare for this event so families can attend without

worrying about a large expense. All of us should work

together to strengthen young couples, families, and

parents. Would you be willing to help on Thursday

nights? You can volunteer for one, two, or all four

Thursday's per month. Those who help will receive a

small stipend of $20 per night and the grateful thanks

of many parents! Please contact Vicar Mike

([email protected]) if you can help.

    SUMMER CAMP @

    CAMP LONE STAR

    This Summer, Vicar Mike

    will be the campus Pastor

    at Camp Lone Star

    (The TX District Lutheran

Summer Camp in La Grange TX) during the week of

July 19-24. Through special arrangement with Camp

Lone Star, kids from Memorial who sign up that week

will pay a reduced summer camp fee of only $400

(instead of the usual $550). Camp spaces are available

for Alpha Camp (ages 8-12) and Omega Camp (ages 13-

18). If you're interested, call or text Vicar Mike (636-

577-0458 OR [email protected]) so he can register

you for the special Memorial rate.

    PICTORIAL

    DIRECTORY

    Back by popular

demand! MLC has welcomed so many new families

since our last directory that its time to update it. While

this wont happen overnight, we are looking for 2-3 people to head up the project. One of the first things

these folks will be responsible for is to investigate self-

publishing. Please contact Pastor John, Vicar Mike or

    Jody if interested.

    BLOOD DRIVE!!

Time flies, doesnt it?? We have another opportunity to

    donate blood to help others

    who are in need.

    Mark your calendars for

    Tuesday, May 12th. The Blood

    Bank folks will be here

    between

3:00 pm and 7:30 pm so lets see if we cant beat our best record of donations yet!!

As always, Marie Lau and Joan Johnson are ready to

sign you up and answer any questions you might have.
