This would be a good place to insert a short paragraph about your organization. It might include the purpose of the organization, its mission, founding date, and a

brief history. You could also include a brief list of the types of products, services, or programs your organi-zation offers, the geographic area covered (for exam-ple, western U.S. or European markets), and a profile

of the types of customers or members served.

It would also be useful to include a contact name for readers who want more information about the organi-

zation.

Henny Penny Hatchlings was a fun and educational

program we had in Vacation care. Being able to

watch the chicks hatching and care for them since

they were born was a very exciting and nurturing

experience for our OSHC children to be a part of.

This links closely to our Chicken Feeding program we

provide in partnership with the Trinity College Ag

Department. Where our scraps from OSHC snacks are

gathered up in a bucket and educators and children

walk across to Ag to feed the chickens each week.

If you would like your child/ren to be part of this

program please sign the consent slip on the last page

of this Newsletter and return it to an educator.

Brushing your teeth is a huge importance for all children and adults.

Here at OSHC we encourage children in Before School Care to brush

their teeth after breakfast.

If your child attends Before School Care and you would like them to brush their teeth

please fill in the form on page 7.

We have a limited range of brand new Colgate toothbrush packs to provide one to each

child that will be a part of this program. *Numbers are limited*

We will then also provide your child with a toothbrush head cover and toothpaste. The

toothbrushes are kept in a hygienic location within the service.

Please note: A new toothbrush needs to be provided to the service at the start of each

term.

If you would like your child/ren to be part of this program please sign the consent slip on

The Children’s Observations books are well underway!

Located in the filing cupboard next to the breakfast bar, we encourage you to take a look at

your child’s books with them. If your child was enrolled during Vacation Care you’ll find some

amazing photos and stories to read! Many of our children are already so excited by what they

have created and put into their special books, along with Observations done by our educators.

CHILDREN’S PORTFOLIOS: OBSERVATION BOOKS

Come in and view our marvelous displays located all around the service! ROOM DISPLAYS

MARC’S MASTERPIECE

Well done to Marc Edwards for creating

this editions best “MASTERPIECE” . Marc

decided he wanted to fly! So he spent the

day creating his very own set of wings!

He gathered his tools and supplies and

began to draw the outline of his wings on

the large cardboard box. Educators

helped cut it out and then Marc

proceeded to spend the next hour

colouring in and decorating his

masterpiece! The final touches of the

string to make them wearable were

added so his creation and imagination

are ready for him to fly!

Well Done Marc!

Sue’s Special Fried Rice

Each night children are offered an opportunity to complete their homework with their

peers and our educators amongst our new ‘knowledge tree”.

The homework system is aimed to encourage students to complete their homework each

night as well as being able to do their homework in a social setting to make it more

enjoyable.

Homework time is proving to be a fun and engaging system. We offer multimedia use such

as the computer, we provide a creative homework roster that has the whiteboard and

butchers paper for spelling words , sensory tools to engage children to solve math's prob-

lems and we can listen to children read their sight words and readers.

If you would like your child/ren to be part of this program please sign the consent slip on

the last page of this Newsletter and return it to an educator.
