One of the most important ideas of Le Grand Meaulnes is that of the heros journey. This

process is reflected by the journey of Augustin Meaulnes in the novel. They are almost a mirror

image of each other. The review of The Odyssey provides further insight into the themes of Le

wishing to learn more about him. But on another hand, literary scholars will find the biography

very useful because it describes in great detail Fourniers inspiration for writing the novel, which

Author Unknown. Henri Alain-Fournier.Penguin Classics. Penguin Books Ltd, n.d. web.

The biography of Henri Alain-Fournier is simple and brief. It does summarize the main points of

Fourniers life, but only very generally.

This biography is rather unbecoming of a publisher like Penguin Books Ltd. It is very, almost

lazily brief. It offers next to no information on Fourniers life, and gives no explanation for his

reasoning behind Le Grand Meaulnes. It has little information anyone can use.

Hatfield, Jean. The Hunger Games. About.com,n.d.

This review of The Hunger Games provides a broad overview of the major themes of The Hunger

Games. This is relevant to Le Grand Meaulnes because it shares a major theme with it:

    unrequited young love.

This review is comprehensive and has good depth, and has good insight into the themes of The

Hunger Games. Its claims are clear, sophisticated, and insightful, which makes it useful for

    anyone.
