2 USAID Introduced the New Delhi Disability Plan in 2000, which promotes discussion and collaboration with partners such as CARE, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Rotary Club International and other NGOs on disability issues

Other Donors

Project title is Adoption of Siddagaga Blind School that aims to provide clothes, Braille slates, and other educational equipment for blind children.

The Rotary Club of East Calcutta and volunteers from Voice of the World held a Braille and speed chess competition for the persons with visual disability from all schools for the blind in the area. Over 230 students within a 400km radius of Calcutta participated in the competition.

Four Rotary Clubs in India donated Braille watches. Donations were made through the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force.

In October 2000, the Rotary Club of Indore Malvika opened two computer centers in the western and eastern regions of the city. Centers aim to train at nominal fees of Rs100 and PWDs for free.
