The MPPOA Reverse Trade Fair (RTF) is free for all MPPOA members and public purchasing professions who would like to attend. Also, those in attendance receive a discounted rate on the annual MPPOA Fall Conference to be held October 3-5, 2018 at the Courtyard Detroit, 333 East Jefferson Ave, Detroit, Michigan 48226. Those are both great reasons to participate, however, the main reason is that the Re-verse Trade Fair funds almost 100% of our annual conference in addition to providing a healthy scholarship fund for NIGP Classes and regional meetings. Why is this im-portant? Professional Development makes you a valuable asset to your entity and yourself. Your knowledge and professionalism adds credibility and stature. The addi-tional benefit to your entity is that the RTF provides an opportunity to meeting with the vendor community—something that entities want to encourage. Simply the Best It is always with appreciation and respect that MPPOA bestows its annual awards on the best of our organization.

Now that honor comes with something more. Beginning in 2017, and going forward, each award comes with a mon-

etary credit the recipient can use for the NIGP conference, NIGP Classes, or any MPPOA event including the annual

conference. The Buyer of the Year receives $2,500.00; Manager of the Year receives;

$500.00, Agency of the Year receives a luncheon and the Marven Klang awardee re-

ceives $2,500.00. The purpose is to support our membership to realize their professional goals. If you are

working toward your CPPB or CPPO certification/re certification or just want to make yourself a valuable member of

your team, your entity or yourself and your resume, the educational credit could make that a reality. Members may

nominate any other member or themselves. The call for nominations usually begins in August. If you have questions

or want to know more contact any MPPOA Board member.
