Single price: $10,834 Other Possibilities for 2019…. Yes! I am well aware that “Hamilton” will be coming

to Michigan in 2018-2019! I am watching for information and will definitely get tickets! There was a lot of discussion about offering the Pacific Northwest Trip in August of 2019. We would visit Washington, Oregon and Northern California. Other suggestions included Rhode Island and Cape Cod area on the east coast in the fall. I did get some requests for Hawaii and Ireland and I’d be happy to offer those trips again in the next couple of years. Thanks for your many suggestions! Overnight Trips

Rooming lists for overnight trips need to be sent in a month prior to the trip. I cannot hold rooms if I do not have payment as the hotels will charge me for them. If I release the rooms, it may not be possible to get them back even if there is room on the bus. Special requests for a room need to be submitted with the room list. I cannot make handicap accessible rooms appear at the hotel upon check-in. If you need a room with a walk-in shower, grab bars in the bathroom, 1

st floor, near

elevator… let me know in advance. One issue we’ve had a few times lately is that hotels make a room “handicap accessible” by removing a bed to give a wheelchair more space to maneuver around. I need to know which is a higher priority… two beds OR handicap accessible.

Money Matters

Payments can be made in cash, checks or money orders. I can take credit cards however, there will be a

3% charge added onto the cost of the trip if you decide to use a credit card. Checks should be made out to Ann’s Adventures. You can mail them or drop them at my house. If I am not home, there is a black, locked mailbox on my porch for envelopes. When sending checks, please write on the memo line what trip the check is for or use the form on the back page of this newsletter. It helps me get your payment posted to the right trip more quickly. If you would like a receipt, you should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope and I will send the receipt right away. When paying for a travel companion, please include their name! Can I get a refund if I have to cancel?

Full refunds will be given only if there is a wait list and I am able to fill your place prior to departure. Partial refunds may be given if I am able to recover the costs of prepaid tickets, meals, etc. Cancellations and no-shows on the day of the trip will not be entitled to a refund. Refund checks are issued after the trip is completed. Do I need to send a deposit?

A deposit assures your seat on a trip. When you call to put your name on a trip list, that lets me know how many people are interested. Your deposit (or full payment) assures you of a seat. Sometimes there are more names on the interest list than there are actual seats available. When the maximum number of seats with money deposited are full, the rest becomes the wait list. The bottom line is… if you really want to go, you should put down a deposit. Medical Forms

Is your medical form updated? A medical form ensures that I can give medical professionals correct information about your health in the event of a medical emergency. If something happens, they need to know your birthdate and list of current medications. If you need to update your form, let me know! Have A Group? Want to travel?

I can plan trips for groups that have a particular destination in mind or if you need ideas for destinations. Pick-ups can be arranged from your location if you have enough to fill a bus! If your group is too small to fill a bus, perhaps we can promote it and help you fill it or you can join one of our existing trips! Shirts For Sale!

The grey t-shirt says “Not all who wander are lost” and is on a section of a Michigan map surrounding Clio. The cost for the grey t-shirt is $12.00 for S, M, L & XL. The cost for 2XL is $13.00. , 2020 Cost: $7549.00 per person double occupancy Status: Time to get your reservation in! People seeking roommates! There is an early booking discount of $50.00. Any bookings after 2-12-18 may have additional cost. This

price includes Insurance ($500.00 value), round trip air from Detroit, 13 days, 19 meals, airport and hotel transfers. We are booked for the trip called “Romantic Roads of Germany and Oberammergau” which includes some of the country’s most iconic cities such as Berlin, Lubeck, Hamburg, Bremen, Hamelin, Kassel, Marburg, Wurzburg, and of course, Oberammergau. This 12 day trip will take us through many areas that were settings for Grimm’s Fairy Tales and we’ll see many castles. The Passion Play began all the way back in 1633. Oberammergau was suffering from the Bubonic Plague. The surviving villagers appealed for Divine intervention to save their families. They vowed that if God were to spare them, they would perform a Passion Play every ten years. They say not a single person fell victim to the Plague after that. Keeping their promise, the people of Oberammergau performed the first play in 1634 and have continued to do so throughout the centuries. Today, many of Oberammergau's residents still take part in this powerful work of art featuring dramatic performances, beautiful music and choral accompaniment. Although the play is in German, you won’t have an issue understanding what is happening during the play, and the music is powerful. The music was written back in 1779 by Rochus Dedler. The music has influences of Mozart and Haydn. Some have compared it to being as romantic and expressive as pieces by Schubert or Weber. Although there have been slight adaptations over the years, it is still based on the original score. There is both an orchestra made up of 60 musicians and a choir which help bring all of the emotion and scenes to life. The Passion Play operates for 5 months from May through October. Days of performances are every day except for Mondays and Wednesdays. The play runs for 5 - 5 ½ hours, starting at 2:30 pm and ending at 10:30 pm every day. It is only one play each day with an intermission of 3 hours for dinner. Regarding Passports…

Passports are available at the Clio Post Office between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. You need your birth certificate with a raised seal to apply for one. They are good for ten years. The post office can take your picture or you can get a passport photo taken at another location such as Walgreen’s or Rite Aid. The Clio Post Office is having a special Passport Day in February! See included flyer! See Clerk for an appointment!

Move Over Mrs. Markham February 9-18, 2018 Written by Ray Cooney Directed by William Kircher All tickets: $14.00

Synopsis: To Sylvie it's the "goose" that she learned from Alistair, but to Philip, Joanna Markham's husband, it's "a variety of geese," and fifteen years of marriage is just about undone along with everything else in this wild zany free for all. Everything’s from Philip's business deals with Bow Wow Books and Alistair's near escape from Joanna's chiding seduction to the naked G.P.O. girl and the specter of scandal is hilarious. A lot of bed hopping occurs as Sylvie winds up taking Alistair on "walkies" and the amazing Mrs. Markham gets her man her husband! It all takes place in an elegant top floor London flat.

Acceptable Forms of ID

Michigan is enacting a federally acceptable form of ID in offering a REAL Michigan Driver’s License. This will be in effect by October 1

st, 2020. The REAL ID will be required for flying within the United States, entry into certain federal properties,

entering nuclear facilities and military bases. Currently your standard driver’s license is acceptable ID for flying domestically. That will end on October 1

st, 2020.

If you have an Enhanced Michigan Driver’s License, it is already compliant and allows entry into the US by land or sea from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean without a passport. To fly into the US from anywhere – including Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean, you must have a passport. Regarding Trips that fly….

For all trips that include a flight, it is very important that the name on the airline ticket matches the ID you plan to use. I must have the name as it is on the ID and your birthdate. Many people make me a copy of the passport or driver’s license so I can make sure I’ve typed it correctly. Please consider doing this… no one sees them except me. If you do not have access to a copy machine, you are welcome to stop by the office during office hours and I will make a copy for you! It can cost $200.00 to change the name on the ticket if it is wrong.
