Ways in which our media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? (i.e. Of film openings)

• In our film opening we have used many conventions that we have found whilst planning our opening film and studying media products. These products include movie posters and movie trailers. There were many conventions that we all had to follow in order to make them successful.

• Our media product consisted of a romance combined with tragedy creates comedy in which we have been inspired by movies such as Friends with Benefits starring Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis and No strings Attached with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman

How does your media product represent particular social groups ?

• Our film opening "Heartbreakers" represents certain social groups including females who desperately want to break up with their over-protective boyfriends and become a women who buys her own things, and does not allow a man to affect her stability or self-confidence. She supports herself entirely on her own and is proud to be able to do so.

• In our group we have young teenagers that are represented in Heartbreakers, age: 17-20 years old.

The kind of media institution that could distribute your media product?

• If I was about to distribute my media product I would most likely select Paramount. Simply because their production, distribution studio, has been consistently ranked as one of the largest movie studios.

• Paramount Pictures have distributed movies such as: The Guilt Trip, Fun Size, Pain & Gain, A Thousand Words and most importantly No Strings Attached, which is important as my group has been inspired by this movie.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

• For our media product, the target audience would be from about 17 to 30 years old. However our film opening is pretty much for everyone, in my opinion younger teenagers wouldn't get this whole "breaking up" scene, simply because relationships are most common between this young age.

• In our film opening we include a few tense scenes, which means that it could be appropriate for children age 10 and above.

• Also on the other hand 18+ people could still get benefit from it.

How did you attract/address your audience?

• We chose Romance combined with tragedy which creates comedy, because we wanted to film something that represents young teenagers as independent women but also make a funny clip out of it. Besides we all enjoyed making it and going through all that planning.

• In order to gain more in depth understanding of the genre we used two young girls that played the most important roles.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

• Using the camera and editing• Lighting• Filming • Music, Sound effects

What have I learnt?

• On the Preliminary task I feel like I've learnt a lot about technologies and improved my filming or even acking skills. Even though I think we could improve on our practice skills, my group have done a good job, considering none of us done anything like that before.

• I am now more confident using camera and putting everything together, making a good film opening. My whole group have gone through long procedures of researching to begin with, then moved to brainstorming, filming which helped me to realise how to plan everything first, to move on and start filming.

• I am definitely looking forward to facing the next task, and progressing with my knowledge.
