x ● 18th century table
knives look completely different than knives from the previous century. They are very blunt, and has a curved blade with a rounded tip. These knives’ use is to spread butter, moving food onto a fork, or cut something that is already soft because of its smooth blade.
knives transformed into little, detailed table knives. The table knife was now less redundant. Table knives were usually made out of steel. These knives aren’t considered violent as they were before. They used to be huge, sharp knives at the dinner table. Now the size has decreased, and the sharp edges have turned into smaller, less effective blades.
Chinese dynasty were not that different from europe and the stuff people thinks about chopsticks is completely different.
Chopsticks have been an early invention and they start appearing 900 years ago same with tou
In europe the most famous knifes were the carver that were used to divide meet at the dinner table of lords and ladies and tou was used to cut raw food
Scientifics found out that due to the way we used the table knifes in the last 250 years our jaw has started to change.
A lot of people is getting overbite now a days which means the your upper jaw closes over the lower jaw due to not been used to cut food with our teeth
In france knifes were often kept of the table and they were usually used for peeling or cutting fruit when they were on the table.
